That video is great Jimmy fallon was so right in his lyrics, looks like he predicted the game pretty well :)

Notice how the faster and stronger than college linebackers bottled up the option all night long? Seems to me some people said that was why the option wasn't viable in the NFL a while back and they got ridiculed for saying so. How about the Tebow worshippers man up and acknowledge who was right and who was wrong.

I wonder who said that [8|]

slvemike4u -> RE: TEBOW! (1/15/2012 10:55:53 AM)

So where is the Raptor dude ?
I was sure he would come back here and acknowledge the greatness of a certain NFL quarterback that no one talked about in the week leading up to this game....I am,of course,referring to Mr.Brady [:D]

popeye1250 -> RE: TEBOW! (1/15/2012 11:19:58 AM)

I was hearing words like "shatter," "decimated," "steamrollered," yesterday.

slvemike4u -> RE: TEBOW! (1/15/2012 12:26:40 PM)

Did you have someone explain to you what they meant ?
(couldn't,for the life of me,resist....too easy though,way too easy [:D])

Oh you know darn well where he is. He's offline, eating his words with a huge bit of crow and crying.

tazzygirl -> RE: TEBOW! (1/15/2012 12:40:01 PM)

Im gonna give Tebow his due. For whatever reason.. god.. luck... insanity.. whatever... he did make it further than many others. Added to that the fact that his training time this year was cut short and I think he did pretty well.

He isnt a great ball player... but he isnt bad either. I have seen far worse.

slvemike4u -> RE: TEBOW! (1/15/2012 5:06:44 PM)

True Tazzy,he isn't a great ballplayer,but going further he also isn't an NFL quarterback....which is why so many hated him,above and beyond the target that his so public religious stance made him,he wasn't and isn't,as of yet,a great nor even a good NFL quarterback yet he received attention above and beyond what his play warrented...so he was hated on for this reason more than the religious aspect.
Time for Tebow to try to learn how to throw an NFL pass on a consistant basis...failing that he will become a Mark Fidriych...a flash in the pan,rememebred more for the hype than for his play.

Perhaps it is unkind to say so.....but I hope he chokes on those words [:)]

The game's been over for a day and a half and still TRJ remains silent. I guarantee he's choking on his words....and crying.

And if he does it was meant to be. Sure the media played on his quirky ritual. But they all have one. His was brought to the forefront by a political asshole, if you remember.

I hope the end of this season will get people to calm down about the young man and actually allow him a second chance. Perhaps a full training season, which he did not get this past year, will be all he needs. Or, perhaps he is just a flash in the pan.

I prefer to withhold judgement for now.

Technically, his faith was brought to the forefront by him. He's the one that did that lil PSA while still in college about how his mom considered aborting him, but didn't. From then on, it was one big snowball effect.

The ad was done by his mother, not him.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/02/07/tim-tebow-super-bowl-ad-v_n_436383.html

The media hype was all done by Focus on the Family. The ad didnt even mention abortion.

We're probably talking about different ones then. The one I saw left no doubt what it was talking about.

This...and in a BIG way,this is where he made his PRIVATE religious beliefs public fodder.He is free to believe what he wishes,when he brings it into the public eye in the fashion he did,I am free to comment on it [:)]

xxblushesxx -> RE: TEBOW! (1/16/2012 8:08:22 AM)

Seems he's a pretty good guy, according to this ESPN article: "I've come to believe in Tim Tebow, but not for what he does on a football field, which is still three parts Dr. Jekyll and two parts Mr. Hyde.

No, I've come to believe in Tim Tebow for what he does off a football field, which is represent the best parts of us, the parts I want to be and so rarely am.

Who among us is this selfless?

Every week, Tebow picks out someone who is suffering, or who is dying, or who is injured. He flies these people and their families to the Broncos game, rents them a car, puts them up in a nice hotel, buys them dinner (usually at a Dave & Buster's), gets them and their families pregame passes, visits with them just before kickoff (!), gets them 30-yard-line tickets down low, visits with them after the game (sometimes for an hour), has them walk him to his car, and sends them off with a basket of gifts...:"

slvemike4u -> RE: TEBOW! (1/16/2012 8:15:59 AM)

And all that is very nice,as a matter of fact real nice,now if he could only play quarterback [:)]....and keep his religious views private,as religious matters should be [:)]
Just my opinion.

This I agree with to a degree. But I am only going to comment in as much as I will be able to look at myself in the mirror and not feel a little disgust.

Certainly his religious views and such give me big reason to roll my eyes. And I did have to have a big eye roll when I saw him do his little one knee kneel a few weeks ago, peek out of the corner of his eye to see a camera man, then have an "oh shit, I'd better make this look all good and dedicated since I am getting a close up" look cross his face as he went back to his praying and kneeling for a few more seconds.

But as Blushes pointed out, as much as I don't think he is a great ball player......just the current media sensation flash in the pan.....and as much as his religious grand standing seems an awful lot like just that.....grand standing... I am just going to go with, yanno, whatever floats his boat. If he is doing good, for whatever personal reasons he is doing it, they yay. It's better than being in the news for dog fights, rape, drugs, beating the wife, etc etc etc......that seems to plague far too many professional and college athletes.
