Let`s go back to shrub then.....

Anything to keep from talking about the current administration and those emails in the OP, huh?

mnottertail -> RE: "Fast and frivolous" Still Lacking News (12/9/2011 11:22:49 AM)

Well, my piece of it has been said, and it needs saying again, not only do I see no reason to fill out a form for multiple handgun sales as we do currently, I do not see a reason for filling out one for multiple long gun sales.

They have the fucking information already in more ways than we do, and just need the software to alert them to it.

It is an ignorant notion that has no redeeming value, what needs done is clear,  fix their fucking systems. bring them into at least the 90's....

TheHeretic -> RE: "Fast and frivolous" Still Lacking News (12/9/2011 11:39:22 AM)

Well, Ron, that assumes that the goal is to gather information, rather than to create such an overwhelming burden of regulation and paperwork that it makes selling guns too damn expensive to be worthwhile.

mnottertail -> RE: "Fast and frivolous" Still Lacking News (12/9/2011 11:39:53 AM)

The expense is to the taxpayer, not to me personally, nor to the gun buyer. (not apt sentencing I know but you get the gimmick)... In ALL ways expensive.

Perhaps you'd do better at staying on topic if you read the OP?

quote:

On July 14, 2010 after ATF headquarters in Washington D.C. received an update on Fast and Furious, ATF Field Ops Assistant Director Mark Chait emailed Bill Newell, ATF's Phoenix Special Agent in Charge of Fast and Furious: "Bill - can you see if these guns were all purchased from the same (licensed gun dealer) and at one time. We are looking at anecdotal cases to support a demand letter on long gun multiple sales. Thanks."

Yeah, or illegally invading a country under false pretenses, as rightists are often wont to do.

President Bush LEGALLY (via specific authority granted to him by Congress) invaded Afghanistan and Iraq under the same pretenses his immediate predecessor Slick Willie Clinton (D) ILLEGALLY (without specific authority granted to him by Congress) attacked Iraq with hundreds of cruise missiles. Perfect example of hypocrisy, as leftists are often wont to do.

mnottertail -> RE: "Fast and Furious" Still Making News (12/10/2011 6:45:54 AM)

Yeah, illegal:  I don't think it means what you think it means.

Because it is not true what you said, using that word correctly.

You are much better off staying in birther mode, you won't even make the kindergarden level cut in law.

Ninebelowzero -> RE: "Fast and Furious" Still Making News (12/10/2011 6:52:17 AM)

Serious question to all you USA chaps. If the Bush administration didn't invade Iraq because of WMD's then what was the real reason. I happen to think they were shitting bullets over the risk of them falling into terrorists hands & hit the panic button. I'm interested in your take not jerking you all off.

"ATF let guns 'walk' under Bush administration, too"

http://www.kansas.com/2011/10/05/2049000/atf-let-guns-walk-under-bush-administration.html#ixzz1g0Kmwiet

Comparing "Operation Wide Receiver" (under Bush) and "Fast and Furious" (under Obama) is akin to comparing day and night.

mnottertail -> RE: "Fast and Furious" Still Making News (12/10/2011 6:55:00 AM)

Probably should be asked in your own new thread, guv.   we are pretty much in the midst a drunken yankee piss up here already.  I know you meant no harm but it is friendly advice, please accept it as that.

luckydawg -> RE: "Fast and Furious" Still Making News (12/10/2011 6:55:16 AM)

that should be a different thread.

Would be interesting though.

Ninebelowzero -> RE: "Fast and Furious" Still Making News (12/10/2011 6:55:52 AM)

Fair point mate thanks.

Ninebelowzero -> RE: "Fast and Furious" Still Making News (12/10/2011 6:56:56 AM)

You na gun dealer btw? Asking cos you seem to know your stuff on the admin.

geilematz -> RE: "Fast and Furious" Still Making News (12/10/2011 6:57:42 AM)

Clinton lied about having had a blowjob
GW Bush and all his administration lied to the UN (and this means the whole world) about reasons and justifications for starting a war

liars all of them
but I can see a difference

mnottertail -> RE: "Fast and Furious" Still Making News (12/10/2011 6:58:24 AM)

Yes, I own an uncle shop.  I do guns here, and have a federal firearms license (dealer).  I know about the paperwork and how it all works.

And as an aside.............a fuckin FFDL.

TheHeretic -> RE: "Fast and Furious" Still Making News (12/10/2011 7:09:26 AM)

Blind squirrels and nuts, Ron. Bush II did obtain full Congressional approval on Iraq. Perhaps you would do better to make your snark about the U.S.'s illegal war, than Bush doing it all by his lonesome?

Back to topic, though. How do you value your time when it comes to filling out yet more forms, and complying with yet more regulation on firearms transactions? My local hardware store, for example, no longer carries arms and ammunition, not because it's illegal to sell them, but because the paperwork burden became too much of a time-consuming pain in the ass.
