You want to see the line of hoops you have to jump through over here to get a licence to own a firearm let alone sell the fucking things.

mnottertail -> RE: "Fast and Furious" Still Making News (12/10/2011 7:12:47 AM)

Factless, groundless, and unintelligible as always.

Perhaps you could give us the rundown on exactly how Clinton's actions were illegal.  You know, citations from say the WPA in context and whatnot.  And then you could touch upon the aftermath of that, and how he pretty much got rid of all the WMDs that remained thru those bombings that St. Wrinklemeat had given to his buddy Saddam.  Or, how that might be disproven by events and how the fucking Joint Chiefs, DIA and CIA were liars for having said that.

Blind squirrels and nuts, Ron. Bush II did obtain full Congressional approval on Iraq. Perhaps you would do better to make your snark about the U.S.'s illegal war, than Bush doing it all by his lonesome?

Back to topic, though. How do you value your time when it comes to filling out yet more forms, and complying with yet more regulation on firearms transactions? My local hardware store, for example, no longer carries arms and ammunition, not because it's illegal to sell them, but because the paperwork burden became too much of a time-consuming pain in the ass.

Under false pretenses.  Take your show on the road, cuz it won't play in here.

Yeah, people come in here and fuck me around and want to buy something and I have to fill out some paperwork, even for a fuckin dvd, snowboard, paintball gun, TV, gaming console and so on.

I ain't liking that paperwork, I am fine with helping filling out the fuckin 4473 and the bit in it I have to do, and I don't do it for free, I sell the guns for more than I own them for, you see.

I don't advocate more paperwork, I advocate less, they already know this multiple stuff, they know you, they know your ssn, they know your background check number, they know if it was long gun or handgun or major part (frame and so on), and if the idiots like the NRA (I won't join them, they are not extreme enough...) and quit with the fuckin Obama is trying to take your guns away and other hysterical notions, the FBI could simply tie these transactions together in software, and see the multi buys if they were from one dealer or many of any type.  They know a guys buys when I call them cuz they tell me sometimes when I have to fill out a multiform on a guy.........

And they could have caught on and busted these gun runners without Fast and Furious or the Bush one, or the stings or any of this crapola.

But special interest groups are hampering those efforts (if there even are any now) in their paranoia, and lack of knowledge about the realities here.

There is a simple fix for this that reduces paperwork and money and increases efficiency and just everything.

Clinton lied about having had a blowjob
GW Bush and all his administration lied to the UN (and this means the whole world) about reasons and justifications for starting a war

liars all of them
but I can see a difference

You love Clinton and hate Bush too much to see the real difference.

Perhaps you can clue her in with facts and credible citations regarding what 'real' might entail.

Didn't think so.....

Yeah, I'm sure it's a whole different kettle of fish, as is our foundational understanding of the relationship between the citizenry and the government.

Yada yada yada, blah blah blah. Bush was a moron, except for when he tricked all those ever so clever Democrats. The Congressional Record says they gave the okie-dokey, so load the pipe and smoke it, along with the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution.

I am not condoning the GTR, but it isnt so hard to decieve anyone when they are given errant facts.  I mean look at what you post to me here and then look at what you post on the other thread.

Bernie Madoff went to jail for doing things under false pretenses.  To claiming the onus should lay on the swindled old ladies and so on doesn't wash either.

If you see a contradiction, Ron, do point it out clearly. Bush got Congress to approve and endorse. You want to claim they were tricked, I think the Dems were pussies, but the vote is the vote.

Victims of fraud traditionally aren`t held libel for damages or blamed for what their being deceived caused.

That shit is usually (and legally btw) is put on the perpetrators of the fraud.

I don`t think a judge would ever tell a fraud victim they deserved their damages b/c they were pussies. That`s a new one.

Never heard of a defense put forward at trial blaming the victim for not being strong enough or better defended.

Usually the onus is put on the cock-sucker perp.

That seems grotesquely backwards in the most sickest way.

Hey rape victim,it`s your fault for being alone and vulnerable.[8|]

Hey bernie madoff victims,it`s your fault for being dupes.[8|]

Hey Nicole Simpson, sorry but you should have had a thicker skin.........[X(]

TheHeretic -> RE: "Fast and Furious" Still Making News (12/10/2011 9:07:26 AM)

Apples and oranges, O59. We certainly do tell people who don't notice there is an airport a half mile from their new house, or a rail line on the other side of the back fence, that they should have done their due diligence before signing on the bottom line.

We can blame Congress for going along with Iraq, just as we can blame the voters who bought into Obama's hopey-changey rhetoric, without noticing the man had never actually run anything in his life, for electing him.

mnottertail -> RE: "Fast and Furious" Still Making News (12/10/2011 9:10:44 AM)

APPLES AND ORANGES RICH.

If you can see the fucking railroad and see the airport thats fine, but to be told you cannot read the report yourself because of national security interests but here is what it says (which it dont) is a different matter.

And your simile is inept in any case, in this country you would have to disclose there is an airport pathway or a train running thru your back yard.

TheHeretic -> RE: "Fast and Furious" Still Making News (12/10/2011 9:49:46 AM)

Simplified for the slow and obtuse, Ron. We can say checking whether building permits have been issued for low-income housing, or a fundy church, on the big empty lot at the corner, if you prefer.

mnottertail -> RE: "Fast and Furious" Still Making News (12/10/2011 9:55:40 AM)

Simplified for the profoundly ignorant.  You can check those, agreed.  You cannot read documents that have been refused you under the guise of national security to see that they indeed contain what they contain.

Still inept however, because if the permits have not been issued, the work however will be stopped. Take back a fuckin war, because you were told the permits were issued by the constitutional authority, but it turns out that...no, they weren't.

What Owner had was correct, you are still shoehorning apples and oranges into a specious nothingness.

Sanity -> RE: "Fast and Furious" Still Making News (12/10/2011 9:56:42 AM)

Maybe mnot can point out where Congress approved of Obamas new improved version of fast and furious

We will let nitty show us where such a thing is needful via the law, just after he shows us Bushes congressional approval for his fast and furious thing.

In the meantime we will continue at least quasi-intelligent discourse, instead of your suggestion.

TheHeretic -> RE: "Fast and Furious" Still Making News (12/10/2011 10:36:31 AM)

Well, if we want to head off in that direction now, let's find Obama's Congressional approval to topple Kuhdaffy...

No, Ron. The best you've got is an assumption that it's okay for Congress to claim incompetence as an excuse. I'm sure that's good enough for some, since it's the Obama '12 theme, but Congress has a Constitutional duty they put lower on the priority list than keeping their jobs, and since you started this thread drift putting such things on Republicans, I'm going to keep the GTR in the mix.

As for Owner being correct, there is always the rule of blind squirrels and nuts, but here he's got two examples that utterly ignore the relationship of Congress to the President, and one where I do want to know how people who gave all their money to a guy named Made-off could actually be so foolish.

Sanity -> RE: "Fast and Furious" Still Making News (12/10/2011 10:51:54 AM)

I think mnots crazy hope is that two wrongs can make a right

Anything, I mean anything Obama does is perfectly acceptable because someone somewhere in history did something bad too

Holder giving serious weaponry to foreign drug cartels, hoping that a lot of people are  killed so that policy decisions can be justified, is just peachy in his mind

1) He didn't need it.  The law is clear.

2) No, no assumption, but beside the point, the point being they were told that this was what the assessment read, but they could not see it for themselves due to national security.  Turns out it ain't what it said.
