Unless it's prime rib or ribs, I always have leftovers. (usually even then) I'm only five foot nothing, so, my food intake is considerably less than most restaurants serve.
Yes, I've had some waitresses assume it's a problem with the quality of the food, but most just realize that they serve big man portions and I'm a small(ish) woman, and box it up. No problem.
I didn't intend this to turn into a why are people fat thread, but noone has control over what happens to "their" thread, once started.
I will say Comfy Cow SO rocks. : )

Place I work we know the portion sizes are huge, so we often encourage sharing.

And, yeah, sometimes threads drift a tiny bit. Sorry about that. Sounds like you and the tweens had a great time. That is all that matters. [:D]

How cool that you encourage sharing!
Here in KY, the only places that really encourage sharing are the ones that serve tapas, and that's only because they can serve less food on a plate and charge the same amount for it. [:-][:D]

By the time someone orders an appetizer or sushi roll, a drink, a meal, then a desert... and most want coffee... the bill is at least 50 bucks... more if the order more than one glass of wine or drink. Then we get the little old ladies who come in and want to share everything... lol... the more I save them, the more they tip me. [;)]

Sounds like a lot of fun and your daughter and
her friends will probably always remember
it.
Ice cream parlors have done things like
this as long as there have been ice cream
parlors. That's how banana splits got
their start, I believe.

Pity...

I'm pissed at Blue Bell because they stopped making their Chocolate-covered cherries. Great black cherries, chocolate ice cream, and chunks of chocolate up to an inch square.

Fresh Market carries the Homemade line. I like the Raspberry chocolate chip. They recently started carrying another premium line, with its version of Chocolate Cherry. reallly like it.

A friend of mine who is slim and (get this bit) stops eating when she is no longer hungry went to america a few years ago. When she only ate less than half the massive portion served to her a couple of waitresses were actually angry that she had left so much food. Most of them were confused and wouldn't accept that there was nothing wrong with the food, and one even got the chef out to apologise! Unbelievable

really? woah that's a cool story bro.

it reminds me of the time i went to [whatever country your friend is from] and everybody was pooping in the middle of the street. and i wouldn't poop in the middle of the street because that's gross and people actually got MAD at me for not pooping in the middle of the street like everyone from that country does.

LOL totally true tales of other countries are always so enlightening

I think most of it is due to the sedentary lifestyle that has spread from the executive suite to Main Street, and starts so young now. In the suburbs it is much more unusual to see pick up games in whatever sport than it used to be. Parks used to be full, with people waiting for a field/court. Now they are nearly empty.

Oh yes, that is definitely a factor, both statistically and anecdotally - it was so much easier to maintain my weight when I either did not have a desk job or worked on campuses that required a lot of walking.

When I sit on my ass all day, it grows [X(]

Reminds me of a saying an old girlfriend used…what crosses your lips winds up on your hips.
