Yup.

I'm certain there's way to reduce risk with enough knowledge, but I ain't going there. Early in I allowed a dom to pass me out by putting pressure on my jugular, and it was fucking awesome, but the potential consequences are just too scary.

My overall bit is with enough knowledge risks of most activities can be reduced, and any activity without enough knowledge is risky.

Part of the fun for me is researching something really crazy, and then assessing what of the potential risk is worth it to me, and what I need to learn to reduce those risks as much as possible.

The whole fucking w/ the lights on and flying mormon underwear bit was awesome, but I'm all about the original topic too.

A woman asking 'where is the safest place for my Dom to stab me'? She went on, the knife isn't going to go in more than 2 inches and we are going to the hospital straight after and telling the medics it was a kitchen accident.
They then get all this support from what I can only consider, absolute nutters. Answers like 'when I first started stabbing my sub I did it though the hands and the feet'. Another person told her how to measure a soft spot between the kidneys and ovaries.
Another thread spoke about breath play to the point of the sub needing CPR. One guy bragged that he had killed his sub half a dozen times but always managed to bring her round Now of course, anyone with half a brain cell knows he's full of shit but is some fool going to read that and think death only has to be temporary ?!? Is someone really going to try stabbing his sub in the hands or feet because Arnie did it and his sub was fine?

People want to impress. The more dangerous it gets the more people go 'OMG your so hard core' Its extreme exhibitionism and as far as Im concerned this isn't part of BDSM its attention seeking nut cases that are willing to risk lives to make a name for themselves.

I've done some things in my time that are certainly considered edgy but like sheisreeds says, it has to go through a risk assessment and it absolutely can not risk someones life or future health.

Honestly, I find stabbing fucking hot, and after semi-accidentally getting stabbed in the hand 2 weeks ago it's something I'm researching, and pondering.

Yeah, I know that's fucked up.

It may or may not ever happen but if it does, it's going to be well planned.

It'd also have to be a mix of fantasy and reality. Surgical blade, not near vital organs and arteries, kinky RNs on site, full first aid, not too deep, etc.

And not just research based on an online forum.

So many things have that inherit risk though.

Even bondage has some serious risks, at non-extreme levels.

I make a point to never lie to myself and say well if I just to X it's gonna be safe.
