The Bush Doctrine, as I understand it, is the idea that we will invade anyone if we consider them to pose a threat to the US, preemptively and not wait for a strike.  Since the fiasco in Iraq, nobody will likely invoke it again.

I believe what you mean by "the Bush Doctrine" is the neo-con idea that is we invade one Arab state and establish a democratic beachhead there, the rest will topple like dominoes.
