Perhaps from and to some, but not from me it isn't. Thanks again.

Yeah, they forget to tellyas a few things. One member started it because they said instead of drilling into someone "verbally" they would just say "bless your heart". Sometimes things like just stick for some reason, like telling an actor to break a leg.

Personally I liked the pictures but really out here in public you should upload them somewhere, provide a link, AND NOT FORGET A WARNING !

Everybody doesn't necessarily like blood and guts just because they.........never mind :-)

Thanks T. I made inquiry with the Moderator, and she gave me the same good advice.

I see where you are coming from, and scrolled past the images quickly myself, and am glad they were removed, but -

The bloodless, skinless, Styrofoam backed and cellophane wrapped meat in a grocery store reduces an animal's sacrifice to a neat chunk of protein, robbing the eater of a connection to the animal and the land (or feedlot) on which it was raised. This disconnect encourages wastefulness and unhealthy overconsumption of meat.

Diverse agroecosystems, which have reintroduced animals in balance with crops are the best models for young farmers to emulate, but managing these systems requires a knowledge of animal husbandry.

And to bring this back to the OP - animal husbandry is an essential post-apocalyptical skill.

I totally agree with all you've said, Kali. Skills in animal husbandry and slaughter may become very valuable skills in the near future. It comforts me to know I am knowledgeable, comfortable with, and skilled in both.

Good, now their might finally be room on the internet for my cockshots.

Hahaha! Yeah, that's a much mo' better meat to be posting on this site, and probably better appreciated by most than an elk carcass.

Heaven's to Mergatroid...yours is THAT big it needs that much room? Lucky you, and whoever is on the receiving end!

I don't mean to brag ma'am, but I have brought the entire internet down trying to upload just the first inch of it.

I'm just glad the pictures are gone, cuz I was feeling inadequate over my (once upon a time) proud skills at skinning squirrel and rabbit!  Size does NOT matter!  dammit

I say Bless your heart, being from the South - and I don't always, necessarily mean it as an deliberate condescending insult...honest!

Yep, that's why he's always hitting the gals up for blowjobs.  He has to line us up and run the gauntlet, just to get the full length licked.  Sucks to be him.

Whoa, thanks for the warning. I'll remember to bring the lidocaine spray for my poor throat!

So you're saying there's a plethora of tiny-tongued wimmens here?

No problem with butchering. And, yes, I support the idea as a means to increase appreciation of the origin and value of meat, as well as reduce the overall consumption. The question is one of frame of mind. When I'm not in the right frame of mind for it, blood and gore ends up with one space intruding on another. Takes me back to places I don't want to go, where lives- human or animal- have no meaning or value. A subject for some other thread, perhaps, but off topic here.

Health,
al-Aswad.

Hmmmm.

Technically yes. As stated there is no cataclysm, no giant earthquake, no meteor. It's just that we know we are the last in line.

I am going to die without heirs. My bloodline stops here, but that is one thing. The entire human race is another. We owe noone. We can pollute and exploit every natural resource to no end for our own use. We can do ANYTHING we want because it does not matter at all. If we are ALL dead do we really care if there are any animals ? Do we even care if there are any plants, after a certain point that is.

It is over, that is it.

No amount of blood, gore and guts is worse than that because at least some people would be left. In this scenario, there will not. None.

To humanity at large, it might be an apocalyptic event, but to me, there's no reason to behave differently in this scenario, except insofar as it is necessary to deal with the response humanity might have to it. I've elected not to have kids, too, so the prospect of humanity ceasing to have them sounds a lot like blessed relief, except for the likelihood of people going apeshit over it.

It matters in the same way anything else matters: worthwhile people choose for it to be so.

There's no need to stomp on the sandcastle when you leave the beach.

For some of us, "good riddance" is not an acceptable epitaph.

There are worse things than death, and there are different ways to face death. How that has any bearing on the topic, I've no idea. Since you're pressing the point: I'm fine with picking pieces to fill a body bag, but don't expect me to be cheery about it. You probably wouldn't like me very much when I'm cheery about it.

Health,
al-Aswad.
