We all know that Mitt is the candidate that looks Presidential, keeps a solid position in the polls - and the Republicans don't like.

But what's the story with Ron Paul? The guy has never had the whiff of scandal, has held consistent positions for years, and has a strong third place position in the polls. I consider him a more credible candidate than Newt any day. He's also shown solid fundraising strength.

So why won't the GOP show this guy any love?

Could it be that he's a nutcase racist, anti-Semite, isolationist moron?

Seriously, DS, check out his old newsletters, as well as his current foreign affairs positions.

Then there's the gold standard insanity.

When has that ever been a problem for the GOP? Looking at some of the other fuckwits chasing the nomination, it's more of an asset than a liability.

Probably because the big corporations don't think they can get to him?
A lot of his ideas are common sense and thus don't include big business being under the taxpayer's money spiggot.
Many large corporations make a lot of money from the U.S. Taxpayers.
Truckinslave, is there any doubt even blowing in the wind that the bigot Obama is an anti-semitic and anti-Israel?
And as for isolationist do you really think we should be getting involved in other country's internal problems?
Look at what *interventionism* has gotten us, lots of dead military people and crushing debt! And what, $50 Billion per year in "foreign aid?" NO THANKYOU!

That's where you lost me. His position on those two issues are what makes the most sense. The other stuff I don't care, he is out of whack on the abortion issue but he is not running for dictator. And if you think none of the rest of them have a racist streak I have no idea what to tellya. The best likelyhood is that they lie better.

Could it be that he is so far left on foreign policy... that he makes Obama look like a hawk in comparison

Not that thats saying much, many leftists would be screaming that Obamas a war criminal were he a Republican

Once again your post makes no sense,is not consistant at all(save for the irrational meme of hating President Obama of course)Comparing anyones foreign policy leanings to Ron Paul would leave everyone tarred with the hawk label...Paul is a complete isolationist who feels we(The US) should completly and totally disengage from the doings of the rest of the world.Where you go off the rails is in your assertion that "leftists" would be calling him a war criminal were he a Republican.
First off he is to intelligent to be a Republican....were he one,with his credentials,he would not even be a third tier candidate in your nomination process.Secondly in order for him to ,in any way shape or form,be a Republican this would,by definition indicate that sanity has returned to the Republican Party.....even a cursory look at this years Republican race proves that this has not occurred.

He isn't isolationist, he's non-interventionist. To differentiate, an isolationist is like N. Korea. A non-interventionist, will trade with anyone who comes to the table equally and equitably, but won't pick sides in conflicts we have no business in.

Anti-semetic? Ron Paul, no...anti foreign aid and preserving the sovereignty of nations, absolutely. He is the only politician that hasn't made a pilgrimage to Israel, and yet defends their right to take care of business as they see fit.

Ron Paul isn't getting the love because he's about real liberty and real ethics, he can't be bought.

That's the main reason you should all be voting for him. He defends your right to be who you are without the government having any care about it. That goes for gay, straight, bi, drug use or no, whatever religion or not....liberty.

Big corporations have all of them.
His big ideas will not involve any change in the tax favoritism and spigot to big business. That IS the system.
I've seen no indication of Obama being antisemitic or anti-Israel.
Isolationism does not preserve, protect and expand US international influence and the American projection of power. These are all necessary to conduct the 'war on terror.'
Our foreign aid is a spit in the ocean in real term and serves only to buy or prop up regimes that might otherwise change govts. or contest the above.

He is the most stable of all the nominees(coming from a liberal, thats saying something) however I wouldnt vote for him if he were the only one on the ballot
But as a nurse mom and sexual woman, I would never vote for the right/conservative or libertarian EVAH
He isnt defending your rights, hes taking any regulations OUT of the law, away from government so people can cheat you with inferior goods and call it the free market

We're seeing a lot of "Ron Paul" signs here in S.C. as well as a few "Romney" signs.
I have to admit that I do like a lot of Ron Paul's ideas. When he says, "We need to mind our own business" he's absolutely right!
We don't need to be the fire, police, rescue service, banker for the rest of the world because big banks would suffer if we didn't.
If that's what they need then big banks-corporations should hire their own security forces to do those things not steal from the Taxpayers.
And if two countries want to rip each other to pieces I certainly don't want my govt. getting involved in it.
Does any other country on earth have thirteen Carrier Battle Groups? All of Europe? Asia?

Um, yes, there is. He's not as strongly pro-Israel perhaps as others, but he did visit Israel even before he was elected. And I have NEVER heard him called anti-Semitic.
