i don't know, i'm not a leftist. what i am is tired of young american (and others) men and women being killed and maimed to further enrich people who are already rich. if you are so worried about people being killed in the middle east why don't you volunteer yourself? it seems you're more than happy to spill other people's blood, and to destroy other people's lives.

it is people like you that is what is wrong with this country.

Way to completely misunderstand what I wrote

Warning against another overt act of war is one thing. Addressing the war itself which has been ongoing since 1979 is another entirely

And while war is admittedly expensive, with the costs being far more than in terms of just money alone

However, pretending that there is no threat, when the threat is very real and in-your-face can obviously be far more costly

I never said there isnt a threat, as anyone who can read will tell you. I sad the current government, who you insist are doing nothing, have warned Iran off of blocking the straights. I never misunderstood you, not for a second.

Why do you try to pin this on me...

Where have I ever written that I want young people to die, or get maimed in order to make people rich.

See, thats why I have to assume that youre a leftist, you have to invent my arguments and my positions and argue against these inventions of yours rather than address what I actually write

It's very simple. People bear some responsibility for the outcomes of policies they defend and promote. It's called personal responsibility (heard that before somewhere?)

The looney Right continually defends and advocates policies that lead to (especially) young people (US and other nationalities) dying, and the net beneficiaries of these policies are, invariably, the already rich and powerful. The disastrous outcomes of these policies speak for themselves. All this had been spelled out repeatedly, in detail, by numerous people of all political persuasions and none. Yet you choose to persist in promoting looney Right positions, and to defend their mistakes unapologetically.

When individuals stop defending and promoting these deadly, disastrous, looney Right policies, others will have reason to re-consider their culpability.

Further evidence of the enormous price paid by members of the US military who served in Iraq. This article considers the huge numbers of wounded soldiers who don't make it to the official stats of those killed in action: 4,487 or those wounded in action: 32,226.

http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article30120.htm

The cost of putting looney Right policies into action, measured only in terms of military casualties is far higher than official figures indicate.

No, you can blame that on the looney lefties, Bin Laden and al qeada.
Without them none of this would have happened.
I'm still waiting to see the pics of bin laden's body, my govt. thinks I shouldn't yet they think I'll vote for them again?
I want a t-shirt with a picture of bin laden's head with brains dripping out and the Sailors and Marines behind him shoving a ham up his ass!

1. bin Laden was an Islamic fundamentalist who favoured theocracy, NOT a leftie in any sense of the term.
2. The neo-con push to invade Iraq used 9/11 as an excuse to enact a pre-existing policy. Iraq could well have been invaded anyway without a 9/11 happening. "Regime change" in Iraq was the neo-con goal since the mid-1990s

Once again the looney Right parades its abysmal and total ignorance of Middle Eastern affairs. I would have thought that, after embarrassing itself so many times on this issue, the looney Right would have the good sense to keep quiet and stop making itself appear like a complete idiot.

But good sense and the looney Right don't seem to be able to co-exist.

Go right ahead, make up excuses for him!

If it's money, jobs and the economy we want to help we should sell missiles to Iran.
We could make $100 B off of that!
And who cares about selling weapons "to our enemies", Bill Clinton certainly helped out N. Korea didn't he?
Then it's; "Here's your weapons, if you use them we'll blow you to smithereens."

I'm sorry pops, I have no idea who you think I'm making excuses for. I simply pointed out a well known fact. OBL (and Al Quada) are fundamentalists who propose an Islamic theocracy. An obnoxious idea IMHO. On most peoples' understanding of the political spectrum, that would locate him on the far Right, not the left.

And I have no idea what selling or not selling weapons to Iran has to do with anything either. No one has proposed this. Just another bit of obfuscation I suppose.

If you do have something sensible to say please say it. As I have yet to hear anything sensible on this topic from the neo-con/looney Right perspective, I'm not terribly optimistic.
