ORIGINAL: LafayetteLady Cultural insensitivity? C'mon, is that the new PC way of saying "racist?" . On to this silliness concentrate. No, these two things are different, and you'll need to grasp that basic concept first. It's like the difference between someone injuring you out of clumsiness, and someone injuring you out of hatred. If someone is carrying an unwieldy heavy box and accidentally drop it on your foot would you call that person an assailant? See, that's the difference. Dear, I grasp the concept quite well. The minute this young woman put on a blonde wig and spoke in her imitation of a valley girl, she was portraying her view of her white friends, and quite unfavorably. Perhaps all her friends are stupid, rich, white, chicks, but I doubt it. The point, which you will never see, is that the only "culturally insensitive" comment portrayed was about the friend request from a "Tyrone" assuming he was black. Sorry, chickie, but the hair comments aren't out of line in any way shape or form. Look at any number of black women in the spotlight and then think about how many of them talk about their love of weaves or wigs. Only recently (within the last decade or so) have white women started widely using extensions and hair relaxing become all the rage, while black women have been doing it for years. If this woman is so disheartened by this "cultural insensitivity" she hears from her very own friends, perhaps instead of trying to make them look foolish with a video, she should take a moment to tell her friends that their comments bother her. quote:

ORIGINAL: LafayetteLady If you want to constantly seek racism (and the OP regularly posts almost exclusively about the topic), you can find it. I was becoming bored with the conversation to be honest, but this right here is what tempted me to respond again. I almost exclusively talk about race? Really now? Well it just so happens that one can look back and see the last 100 posts that a person has posted here on the Collarme message boards. Do so, and show me how many of the threads I've started are about racism. I mostly ghost the boards in general, content to read and observe quietly, and mostly post on the politics and religion board, but what you say is false, and easily verifiable. Also I'd like to add: ! ! Did I say you started threads on racism or that typically that is when you have something to say. I'm well aware of how to look at posting history, and the majority of yours are typically comments on something of this sort. I'm terribly sorry that you apparently feel so oppressed, but your comments to all here who simply don't see things the way you do is really transparent.
