MissAsylum -> RE: "Shit white girls say to black girls" (1/10/2012 9:13:13 PM)

Saw this video when it came out a few days ago. Did i find it funny? Well, I didn't double over in laughter, or even chuckle really. Is it accurate? Based of my personal experience- yes. However, you can replace "white" with any race to be honest. I've gotten and have heard all of those remarks at one point or another. Is it racist to repeat what you've been asked by somebody of another race? I don't believe so. For the "ghetto" remark: most women who say that (myself included) aren't referencing people most of the time. Of course you have idiots, but the sake of intelligent conversation, we shall leave them out for a moment. They (again, myself included) are talking about what an actual ghetto is thought to be: janky, dirty, low budget, low class. Example: women fighting in a night club. That's pretty ghetto to me. Last year alone, I've seen Caucasian, African heritage, Hispanic, Asian women fight in a night club. Acting like a fool in public makes a person look very low class- i.e. ghetto. Given the topic at hand, what I will say I find racist when it comes to video blogs and the like when many black women refer to white women as "Sarah", or "Becky" or some white women refer to black women as "Shaniqua" or "Lakeisha". I've dealt with people from all races asking me questions. Some questions are because they do not want to say something that is offensive, which i can applaud because they are making an effort to be considerate. Other times, I feel like I am the person who has to "explain" other people. "Is that a black thing?" If I only had a nickle for every time that has happened. I'd have a whole lot of nickles. I get it from black people to, like somehow i have to explain so-called white stuff. Bottom line, there are many offensive and racist things out there. This video isn't one of them. Sorry.
