Why  must one rehash old arguments ad nauseum

Oh, yes, right - its one of the lefts favorite games, toss as many lies out there as possible and see what sticks

Put another way, leftists will never admit they were wrong on a point regardless of how many times its proven, so why play their stupid game when one can merely point to previous discussions in which said leftists had their noses rubbed in their lies and then shown the door

It's possible to show real data and try to convince people with open minds and you aren't even attempting to do that.

Its impossible to prove anything "satisfactorily" to far left wingnuts who have an uncanny predisposition to pretend that what one writes is something other than what was actually written

True, you suggested a search of the CC archives.

However, since you have never satisfactorily proven anything to anyone's satisfaction, a Google search is more appropriate.

ad nauseAm.

Hey, you are the OP and started this thread that is rehashing old arguments beginning with the original post and thread, and you ain't of the left.

And now you castigate others for your actions?

Hillwilliam -> RE: Fox Shut Out of Canada Because of a Law Against Lying During Newscasts (1/16/2012 10:22:32 AM)

In other words, you have nothing, never had anything and never will have anything so all you can do is try to play the martyr and whine about "The left does this and the left does that". I'm one of those people that will ask for evidence when someone makes a claim. if they can't show any evidence their claim is correct or where they got the information, I have no choice but to assume it is fabricated.

If they're lying, you should be able to debunk their lies by showing sources that demonstrate that they're incorrect. You haven't managed that yet. As Lucy says: put up or shut up.

If you proved that the leftists were lying about this before, why are you incapable of providing any citations of prior threads that support this?

Im seeing projection here or is it just me being persnikkety(not that I care if thats the case but doesnt this sound better?

Fox Shut Out of Canada Because of a Law Against Lying During Newscasts

Your whole premise is a lie.

slvemike4u -> RE: Fox Shut Out of Canada Because of a Law Against Lying During Newscasts (1/16/2012 1:05:01 PM)

So what else is new Tazzy ?

Stewart's response to Hannity @ 3:27 is priceless.

http://electzu.com/?p=66691

This led Stewart to a broader dismissal of conservatives playing the victim in an extensive montage of Fox News personalities both claiming victims overplayed the “victim” card and claiming that conservatives were constantly persecuted, the greatest highlight perhaps a comment from Gretchen Carlson that “Christians feel lonely at Christmastime.” “Gretchen,” Stewart advised, “if you ever feel alone at Christmastime, head over to a Chinese restaurant.”

Fox & Friends host Steve Doocy pointed out that madrassas are “financed by Saudis” and “teach this Wahhabism which pretty much hates us,” then declared, “The big question is: was that on the curriculum back then?” Later, a caller to the show questioned whether Obama’s schooling means that “maybe he doesn’t consider terrorists the enemy.” Fox anchor Brian Kilmeade responded, “Well, we’ll see about that.”

The Fox hosts failed to correct the false claim that Obama is Muslim. One caller, referring to Obama, said, “I think a Muslim would be fine in the presidency, better than Hillary. At least you know what the Muslims are up to.” Anchor Gretchen Carlson responded, “We want to be clear, too, that this isn’t all Muslims, of course, we would only be concerned about the kind that want to blow us up.” Obama is Christian, a member of Chicago’s Trinity United Church of Christ since 1988.

So, Fox news does not lie, funny this sounds like a blatant lie.

Deja Vu Ron....... It is getting like "the thread that never was" Most people starting a thread have the brains to get their facts right first.

That "study" and others like it have been debunked as the far left disinformation that it is so many times here that its always surprising when another Chris Mathews fan posts a link to it  [:D]

Since its not worth the time to re rehash it here, one can easily find multiple threads in which its been given a proper burial just search the archives using keywords such as "FOX"  "study" and "viewers"

Then why it a recent study of NJ residents showed that people who get the majority of their news from Fox know less than people who don't watch tv news at all?

http://articles.latimes.com/2011/nov/21/news/la-pn-fox-news-poll-20111121

I don't care how "popular" something might be.  If the news isn't factual I'm not watching or listening to it.

Sorry, I've just come off an terrible 8 hour shift (one of my clients is currently psychotic).  I'm too tired to look it up now.  Why don't you provide me with the evidence that this has been debunked--with actual news stories and not you opinion of the study.

tazzygirl -> RE: Fox Shut Out of Canada Because of a Law Against Lying During Newscasts (1/16/2012 6:33:07 PM)

So, basically, Michael Clemente the bigwig of FOX doesnt like the University of Maryland and that makes any study done there invalid.

Did anyone else see anything different?

tazzygirl -> RE: Fox Shut Out of Canada Because of a Law Against Lying During Newscasts (1/16/2012 6:40:11 PM)

This is why I dont like videos as proof of literature. Its written, then write down the paper trail. But thats too easy to follow. Using the video to show the paper trail makes it far more difficult to actually investigate his claims.

I didn't see very many "claims"  what I saw were a lot of opinions.  Thanks tazzy.

Hillwilliam -> RE: Fox Shut Out of Canada Because of a Law Against Lying During Newscasts (1/16/2012 7:01:23 PM)

Here's my take on the whole damn thing.

Remember. This is an opinion. My opinion and a dollar will get you a cup of coffee down at the corner gas station OK.

Canada's rule against lying during news broadcasts is a lot like the US rules against false advertising of products. I can't sell roadkill deer in a butcher shop and call it Angus beef. That's lying and illegal. It doesnt have a damn thng to do with free speech.
It's fraud.

Deliberate lies are not free speech.

Note that I said deliberate. Im a real estate broker and in every listing contract is a "hold harmless clause" that says if you lie to me about your house and I trust you and pass on that info, I'm not liable. A newscaster that passes on info that is believed at that time to be true isnt lying but a retraction is always published when the truth is found out. I have never seen a retraction from FOX. Im not saying it didn't happen, I'm just saying I've never seen one.
