SF would definitely NOT talk about putting away others for life either, they have a job to do and don't talk about it- can't talk about it. When I have groups of them at my house, they speak quietly and politely, I have never heard them brag about killing. Not even when they don't know I'm listening. Come on over sometime close to a holiday and meet some of your co-workers, and see how a real Green Beret conducts himself.

It's pretty sad actually what you are portraying yourself to be -an emotionless man who bullies to get his point across and gets scorned in return. Real badasses would want nothing to do with you and you know it. I'm sorry, that life hasn't worked out to put you where you want to be. It's not too late you know, you can always stop with the attitude, and start working at being a person others would enjoy being with and perhaps achieving some of these goals that you seem to want. Agree Lizi, I never met the USA variant but I played rugby against the SAS & the SBS both put out a side of 15x Mr Smiths tp protect their anonimity. They aren't 300lb Van Damme's rather the opposite in fact. They have to blend in to normal society so they look well errr normal, perhaps fitter, sharper of eye & in demeanor but like real peeps. hey Ghostman 338. Pop quiz time. I shot against some Delta boys out of fort Bragg at Bisley England, about 6 yrs ago in an inter service/ civilian competition. They were using standard Special Ops equipped M16 A4 carbines AKA the Raptor. Name the scope manufacturer & it's magnification power & explain it's ranging system. cos I can & I'm a civvy. It is offensive to me that someone pretends to be what others have given blood, sweat, and tears for. Any member of the military has dedicated themselves to something that I cannot fathom, and they all deserve my thanks. Even the OP. Just a personal rant.

A deceased good friend of mine was the Regimental Sargeant Major in 42 Commando Marine He wore his uniform in some unpleasant places the biggest was thye Falklands War, which for those in the USA resembled trench warfare circa WW1 at times. At his 22 in (22 years active service) he was retired & taken on by Army Intell in Northern Ireland. he did 42 MONTHS!!! continual duty undercover with his black labrador listening to provo conversations in IRA bars & pubs, no one questions a man with a dog. He probably would still be there but for one night leaving a booze shop & starting his car 2 masked gunmen tried to hijack his car as their getaway vehicle had a flat. Now with a gunman with a pistol at the passenger door & one at the drivers side with an AK47 his sit aware kicked in & he realised that the safety was off on the AK & the pistol wasn't cocked.

He dropped his car keys onto the floor & got his trusty 9 milly from under the seat & double tapped the AK owner first & then did the same to the pistolero. He then calmly drove to a RUC station & handed himself in. He was helivacced back to England & got the Military Cross for his troubles. Both gunmen were IRA terrorists wanted for murder & had been tried in absentia.

Now Bloomy never told us this we found out at his funeral from his fellow Marines.

He got a disease on his brain which over time turned it transparent on x rays. This guy could take an eyeball out at 1000 plus yards. he was finally left with no choice but to throw himself down his stairs to save his family & himself the indignity of a slow death.

His son is now a lancejack in the 42 marine Commando serving in Afghanistan following proudly in his Fathers footsteps.

That's a real Special Ops man.
