I'm 33.
I have 6 kids.
I didn't start using the internet until about 2001.
There, that's my 'net background.

I can't imagine the temptations, and debauchery I could have gotten into (on top of the other crap I actually did do) if the internet was available to me as a teen.
In another unnamed part of this forum, a "princess" posted. She included her email address.
Out of curiosity, I googled it.
In under 7 minutes, I had her real identity (including her real age, of 16), including home address.

My question is this..do you think for kids that age, it's a matter of thinking they're invincible, are they ignorant (in the true sense of the word), or are they bored, playing on their macbooks while Mommy and Daddy ignore them?

I feel old.

A lot of times I think it is all three.

BTW: did you happen to report her profile as underage?

I will be 49 in three months, imagine how I feel!!

I think that they are stupid, with that self-centered invincibility that only the culture of entitlement can bring.

The terrifying thing is she will be allowed to breed.

You know what though? Maybe I'm getting soft, but I feel more sad than anything else.

I did for you. And here is why. Since you posted that here, the argument could later be made, if heaven forbid anything should happen to her as a result of being on this site, that the powers that be should have known she was underage and violated their own TOS.

Dont judge me because I sin differently than you.
If you want it sugar coated, dont ask me what i think! It would violate TOS.

I wonder if the owner of the address knows nothing about this and someone used her address to cyber bully her?

Just a thought ... although it still begs the question, why would do people put up so much personal information about themselves?

Yes it will. Ive done it a couple of times and it is gone. VAA's email box is always open for that. That way, they trace the IP addy to make sure they dont get right back on with a new nick.

Is it gone already?!? I like that there is a higher category of response for underage!

Kids always want to be older than they are... they experiment on the net...especially with their sexuality. It was a lot harder to do when i was young but at least it was not as dangerous.

Otherwise they are growing and learning for better or worse...Girls are finding out the power they have in their bodies and boys are becoming warped...lol

Thank you for doing this tazzy. I think collectively, any community, should protect children. In my mind, the true measure of a community is how they care for and protect their children.

if you do call her parents, could you record it? that would be a great transcript for this site "she what? what do you mean bank account? what do you mean amazon account? she what? WHAT???"

i just think that would be comedy gold

no but seriously, report it (i dont actualy know how to.... thats a problem....) and if you do call, make sure the parents understand the gravity of what shes getting in to (and... a transcript if you want... *shifty eyes* what?)

EDIT
oh good, its already taken down, wow it takes me too long to write these messages, i was six messages behind when this finaly got posted

No no no no, I would not call a minor.. ever. Too much he said she said for that. A well written letter, since you saw the address, would be better.
