I can handle it just fine. How will you handle it when Obama get his head handed to him on a stick when he has to debate Newt.

It'll never get to that.  Newt will drop out of the picture soon enough then ooze back into his slime pit of irrelevancy.

I love how you guys lash out. "slime pit of irrelevancy" indeed.

It seems you're the one having a hard time handling it. You're throwing stones like all the other liberals here.   But yes we shall see. I just love happy endings.

Libs don't care about their own but, rather, only conservatives. This has been public info for almost 15 years yet ABC waits until THE ONLY GOP candidate with the knowledge, experience and gravitas to mop the presidential debate floor with Obama and take the msm to task (like he did to Juan Williams) pulls even with/ahead of the GOP establishment's and msm's choice RINO Romney.

Sorry, jimbo but Romney is the only one with a snowball's chance in hell of getting Obama moved out of the WH. Newt alientates too many people to pick up the necessary Independent vote and some hard core Righties will consider him "immoral" and stay away from the polls. (they damn sure won't vote for Obama)

Newt once asked Bob Dole "Why do people take an instant dislike to me" Dole looked him right in the eye and said "Saves time"

Indeed.

Dunno if this will "end" anything for Newt, but RICK PERRY'S CAMPAIGN HAS COME TO AN END.

I'm actually surprised he stayed in as long as he did?!!

Ya. He isn't the brightest bulb in the pack.

Not to mention it seemed like he was constantly trying to do a GW impersonation.

Like many of your fellow muckrakers, you erroneously assume anyone who disagrees with you is a "liberal".

I'm curious... being that many on this site are of the "poly" sort, would you have the same criticism of those on this site who are into a "poly" dynamic?!!

(For the record, I'm NOT into the poly thing myself)

Yes, in an ideal world people would make the decision to leave their spouse before committing adultery, but real life is often messier.

What I wish would happen is for the media to get out of the personal lives of politicians - and by personal life, I mean their marriage(s) and children. I just feel that to a large extent the issues of adultery and divorce (given that half of all marriages end in divorce and that many of the marriages that end in divorce end up there due to adultery) should no longer be newsworthy or even go to whether or not someone is fit to serve for public office.

If we as a society are going to support people's freedom to divorce, then it needs to stop being such an issue. And adultery has been around since the beginning of time (wouldn't have made the biblical top ten if it hadn't), so adultery is never going to go away. It isn't. It is part of the human condition.

So everyone needs to stop pointing fingers at others for moral failing and just understand that moral failing is part of the human condition.

(For the record I am NOT, and have never been, a Newt supporter. I also despise hypocrisy. But, this is really a general statement about the scrutiny that we put politicians under and the fact that the level of scrutiny is much higher than it is for other people, for example, Hollywood celebrity couples. You know how everyone goes on and on about what a great marriage Newman and Woodward had. Well, let's not forget that it was Newman's second marriage, and he met Woodward when he was still married to his first wife. I don't see people disparaging Paul Newman anywhere. We will never be able to attract quality people to the political professions unless we force the media to give them a little privacy around their marriage(s) and children. We have such limited choices for political office because, really, no normal person would ever want to be under that level of scrutiny. I just want people who will be good for the job. And adultery and divorce have nothing to do with that definition, per se. Although, I do despise hypocrisy.)

I think the difference is that those in here who are poly (I'm not one) do it with the full knowledge and consent and usually participation of their partner.

Personal opinion is this (remember, just an opinion, that and a dollar will get you a cup of coffee at the corner gas station)

Newt is VERY intelligent and a good debater. The problem is that he is SO damn abrasive and unlikable that he would have a difficult time even without the adultery thing.

People just don't like to vote for someone who they consider unlikable. It sucks but it's true.

Most of America won't tolerate this and those of us who do support polyamory and open relationships know the time to bring it up is before you've gotten involved with a third person.

I think you're wrong, America didn't seem to have a problem with Clinton's open marriage. Conservatives, otoh, might or might not, we really don't like Romney

Much of the time, yes... but certainly not always.  I've read many a post where the "poly" thing came up later in the relationship/dynamic.  From the link, it states his current wife had no issue with the "sharing/poly" thing, so who knows (and sorry for the whole theater of the mind thing)... but it's certainly possible Newty and his squeeze are BDSMers?!!

Cheating is not 'poly'. Cheating is cheating.

I think it is ridiculous for a guy pandering to the far right vote to imagine that he didn't have to hold himself to the moral standards that they appear to hold so dear.

No, "cheating" is not "poly", but according to the article, he did propose a poly dynamic to her (by way of "sharing"), did he not?!!

As to the "moral standards" thing... you then believe that one cannot be "Conservative" and poly/moral at the same time?!!
