Newty proposed "poly/sharing", the ex wasn't "ok" with it, and so it ended.

What ended was his marriage - he left her for his mistress, who he was screwing behind his wife's back at the time he proposed an open relationship.

Yep... it happens.  Maybe Hillary Clinton should have followed Newt's ex's lead?!!

Cheating is not 'poly'. Cheating is cheating.

I think it is ridiculous for a guy pandering to the far right vote to imagine that he didn't have to hold himself to the moral standards that they appear to hold so dear.

You've put your finger on it, LaTigresse - 'appear to hold so dear'. The Radicals' pious clap-trap is just talk, as we've seen in sooooo many cases. The Newt isn't finished until he decides he's finished. They'll huff and puff, and in the end it won't matter because all that does matter to these clowns is power. I'll wager a nickel that if he doesn't get the nomination, he'll do the third party thing - with Queen Palin as his VP? (shudder)

You mean the way it didn't matter to CLINTON?!!  Oh but wait, while he "huffed and puffed", he never INHALED. [8|]

Clinton admitted to the ONE bj, apologized and his wife forgave him...

So let me get this straight, because HILLARY was an IDIOT, then it's somehow different?!!

Oh, and in case you missed it... Monica was NOT the only time he cheated.  In fact, Billy had even been accused of RAPE.  But far be it from the Libs/Lefites to let their politics cloud their moral outrage. [8|]

Owner59 -> RE: Newt's campaign comes to an end (1/19/2012 2:39:19 PM)

Who says it didn`t matter with Clinton?

Oh you mean all of his adulterer/accusers were forced/chose to quit and Bill didn`t?

Is that what`s unfair?

Better write the UN Commission On Fairness ...or UNCOF for short....[:D]

This has been public info for almost 15 years yet ABC waits until THE ONLY GOP candidate with the knowledge, experience and gravitas to mop the presidential debate floor with Obama and take the msm to task (like he did to Juan Williams) pulls even with/ahead of the GOP establishment's and msm's choice RINO Romney.

Um, Jim, Newt's affairs and divorces have indeed been public info for fifteen years.  The fact that he proposed an open marriage has AFAIK not been public till now.  The premise of this thread is that his support for open marriage will hurt him more than his cheating and divorces will.

Ironic that support for open marriage could damage him more than cheating.  Although his open marriage was proposed AFTER he screwed around.  I can't imagine any wives going along with "I just cheated on you and I want to stay married to you while I keep my piece of ass on the side."

Actually that was my point. How many conservative women will vote for Newt knowing how he handled the ends of his marriages?

Both Billy and Hillary.  Billy, as he cheated on her several times (all of which were made public), and Hillary... by her actions in staying with him after being cheated on more than the IRS?!! [sm=rofl.gif]

Owner59 -> RE: Newt's campaign comes to an end (1/19/2012 2:47:11 PM)

Really?

Several times?

And where`s the evidence of several times?

Why don`t you start a Clinton cheated thread instead of hijacking this one?

We`re talking about newt on this thread.

I could ask you the SAME question, despite your being uncomfortable witht the facts that CLINTON ALSO CHEATED.

Yes, and CLINTON'S CHEATING is relevant to the topic, despite Lib/Lefties being uncomfortable with the facts.

Owner59 -> RE: Newt's campaign comes to an end (1/19/2012 3:00:47 PM)

One bj compared to decades of cheating.

That`s about the correct lib/con fuck-up ratio.[:D]

One bj...

Throughout his career, Clinton has been subject to various allegations of sexual misconduct, though he has only admitted extramarital relationships with Monica Lewinsky and Gennifer Flowers.[140] For alleged misconduct during his governorship, Paula Jones brought a sexual harassment lawsuit against Clinton while he was president. The case was initially dismissed,[141] but Jones appealed the dismissal to the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.[142] During the deposition for the Jones lawsuit, which was held at the White House,[143] Clinton denied having sexual relations with Monica Lewinsky – a denial that became the basis for the impeachment charge of perjury.[144] On November 18, 1998, Clinton agreed to an out-of-court settlement, and agreed to pay Jones and her attorneys a sum of $850,000.00.[145] Clinton denies ever engaging in a sexual affair with her[145] and his attorney Bob Bennett stated that he only made the settlement so he could end the lawsuit for good and move on with his life.[146]

In 1998, Kathleen Willey alleged Clinton sexually assaulted her four years previously. In 1998, Juanita Broaddrick alleged Clinton raped her some twenty years previously. The accusations by Willey and Broaddrick were never brought before a court. The independent counsel determined Willey gave "false information" to the FBI and inconsistent sworn testimony related to the Jones allegation.[147] Gennifer Flowers, Elizabeth Ward Gracen, Sally Perdue, and Dolly Kyle Browning each have reported having adulterous sexual relations with Clinton during or before his service as governor. Gracen later apologized to Hillary Clinton.[148]

~FR

Presidents who had affairs...

Thomas Jefferson... well documented.

Warren Harding

FDR

Eisenhower

Kennedy

Lyndon Johnson

Clinton...

No party has the monopoly on cheating... nor is any party "pure".

The difference? Only one runs on family values.

I heard a rumor about the time Gennifer Flowers was in the news during Clinton's campaign that there was "another Jennifer" linked to Bush#41. No press printed it though.

Well.. they seem to be turning a blind eye to it.. guess the fact that he walked out on his women when they were sick with cancer and such doesnt mean much either..

if you dont give a shit about your wife, you cheat on her and dump her when she gets sick.. how can you be seen as doing anything but the same thing to your country? It really is true that people get the govt they deserve.. [8|]

I am glad that Canadian politics is "boring" in comparison! [:D]

Can ex ruin his chances?

Romney doesn't have the support to beat Obama anyway, despite Obama's disastrous first term, Romney is our John Kerry.

I just saw this on yahoo and raced back to post it.

I don't think all those conservatives will take kindly to this!!

You don't think they already knew about it? It happened 13 years ago. And why would you think only conservatives would mind? Don't liberals have morals?

The conservatives are the ones voting until AFTER the primaries. They're the ones he has to pass through to get to the general election. So right now, their opinion is more important.
Ok. sorry, I read it wrong.
As a card-carrying liberal, I also mind that he acted dishonorably.

Also, ex-wife number two has been saying this kind of stuff all along. I hadn't heard the tidbit about "open marriage" before though.
I hadn't heard that particular point but it doesn't matter to me. After all the shit he put her through, one more stupid statement wouldn't make any difference in my opinion of him.

If all parties had agreed to his actions all along, who cares? He's a serial liar.Newt thinks he can preach about morals when he doeesn't have any.
This is true, but with luck he will disappear again after the election and we won't have to hear about it for another 4 years.
