e-cold feet isn't just a phenomenon peculiar to BDSM it happens in online dating in general: http://www.canada.com/Online+dating+give+some+guys+cold+feet/5673228/story.html

I kind of wonder if it's more frequent in kinky online dating because of the in the closet nature of a lot of the participants and some of misconceptions inexperienced kinksters might be suffering from but who knows

Now I suppose his chickening out could have had to do with your relationship status but I get the impression that a lot of the time it's entirely about his head space and not anything to do with you.

As for the question is it ok to vent at him? Well, you risk the unlikely possibility of feeling like a complete ass when his next of kin calls you back to inform you that he didn't make it because had died horribly. But really how often does that happen, if venting will make you feel better go for it.

While the Internet has provided access to a greater pool of potential romance, many people stay in the shallow end and never dive in. They prefer to merely dip their feet in the safe waters of online connection and communication. They never take it to the next level, into the real world.

They're either scared or married. Yes, married men skulking around on dating sites is another online dating booby trap.

If I had a hundred dollars for every time I've been stood up, I'd have at least a thousand dollars, lol. It used to bother me, but not anymore. If they don't have the guts to show up, then they weren't the right one for you.
I am with the majority on the marriage issue. If you are married, I don't want anything to do with you, period. I don't care what your story is.
