Status: offline 		I went and looked because someone we know told us she was listed on the site as a fake after telling some guy to "fuck off". I was curious to see if I had been listed since I've had a number of people accuse me of being fake.

What I found interesting were the IM conversations that one of the admins apparently loves to post (since she's posted a ton of them)

Yeah, the guys were douches, but that doesn't mean someone is fake and it does seem like she deliberately tries to goad them. Just because someone's a douche doesn't mean that he's not going to meet someone and both of their hearts go pitter patter.

BTW, I did not find myself listed....although I would have found it quite funny if I had been.

BTW: I agree. I actually find few people to be truly "fake".
They may misrepresent themselves, they may be liars and cheaters, or they may be complete assholes, but that doesn't make them fake. It makes them a liar/cheater/asshole.

Status: offline 		It's a silly little website with about three or four regular posters who have very odd rules about what constitutes fake and what doesn't.
It's honestly not even worth visiting, there is such little significant content, and nothing of intelligence.

The dingbat in question posts frequently on Fetlife, trying to get people interested in her site.  She claims to have no job and doesn't go to school (because she's an "owned lifestyle slave" who only lives to serve her "master") so she's got all day to troll chatrooms for additions to the "fakes" site.

Status: offline 		Oh wow. That is a whole lot of effort to go through to prove that someone is "fake" on CM.   I've noticed that seems to be a huge deal to some of the member here. Has it been that much of a problem in the past?   What exactly is fake anyway?

Status: offline 		Don't you just love it when people make their own sites just so that they can apply their "rules" which allow them to senseless bash others.  Their supposed chat logs can be faked, pictures may be all over the net cause the owner posted them about themselves.  My picture is genuinely me but you can find it on various other sites - doesn't mean I stole it... it means I go to more then one website!! Gasp.

*sighs* The internet and it's breeding ground for vindictive, petty, people who are only a monthly payment away from having their own site dedicated to slander.

What I don't get is why all the effort?  So someones "fake" (be it a true fact or not) - ignore them and move on with your life.  Spending your day trying to attack everyone who you deem as fake is a vile and senseless way to live.

Edit: I have my doubts on that "TinEyed" site too.  It claims to search the entire internet of pictures (I just did a quick search on my profile picture and it claims it looked through over 2 billion pictures in a fraction of a second) when - while such a thing is doable, the time it would realistically take to take.. and compare images, is impractical.

Even if they do as they claim and crawl the net adding pictures to their database it takes more then a fraction of a second (the page loaded it's search results as if I'd just refreshed the page) to go though that many files.  Look at your own computers virus scanner, scan your folder of porn (who here doesn't have one huh? ).  Even if you only have 100 it takes longer then that site took to supposedly search 2 billion.

Most of them focus on identifying profiles with stolen pictures.

Wow,.. they have a fair number of members on there.. but.. I have been looking at some of the websites some of the members have and looks like they have quite a few fake/scammer members too!


Yes, I know it was totally a waste of my time but sometimes curiousity gets the best of me..

I think part of it is that they come onto these forums, venting and huffing....and we just go, "Yeah, so?" They feel they're not getting the necessary pat on the head, so they decided to go some where that they can fawn over each other.
