No,that was a poor turn of a phrase.....what I actually meant was that they are incapable of coherent evaluation of possible consequences.Addiction to a mind altering drug is ,in fact,a mitigation,whether or not you or I accept it...it just is.

Your contrary view notwithstanding, my post wasn't directed at you or any other individual. As the first sentence made clear, my post was directed at "what is wrong in this discussion IMHO".

As for engaging with your confused nonsense, I prefer to deal with issues through intelligent discussion based on rational analysis of evidence and facts. That seems to preclude the possibility of a fruitful conversation between us.

You're the one writing that its ok that innocent people are executed by the state. If you don't want to have people draw the conclusion that you are a raging hypocrite that cares for nothing but your bloody vengeance then perhaps you should examine your stated beliefs.

What do you propose as an alternative to the death penalty?  Life in prison where they get free medical, free food, free clothing?  Victims rights in this country don't mean squat.  The criminal has more rights, and if they take a life, their life should be forfeit.

All well and good(though I don't, for a moment, concede any of this to you or any other proponent of the death penalty),as far as this goes,but barely has moved this conversation into "we are willing to forfeit a few innocent lives just as long as we get to dispatch some evil doers [8|]"Paraphrasing of course,but that is what her present argument amounts to .

DomKen, i have written if you would up your integrity a little bit even and you will see this in pretty much every post i have made that i do not ADVOCATE the execution of innocents.  What i have SAID is, i don't believe the death penalty should be ABOLISHED because of the few -- maybe innocent people - executed over decades. 

So grab some integrity, be a man and acknowledge what i have SAID not what you believe i said.  Putting words in my mouth is a cowards way.

Yeah Mike, it shows just how afraid you are to read what i have actually said.  Because your desperation to make me the bad guy instead you have NO ALTERNATIVE for the death penalty, you are a diehard make excuses for the convicts, don't make them take responsibility, and pretty much coddle them and forgive them their sins and just forget about consequences of same -- hell the proof of that is in your comments to tazzy making excuses for people who are wasted well geee your honor i was wasted and didn't THINK of the consequence so don't be mean to me, just caused i killed someone.
