What a load.

As much as I despise Bush and regret the Florida debacle the United States Supreme Court did the right thing. There was no clear standard for the recount. Ballots were counted in a variety of differant fashions throughout the State during the recount. Due to time constraints, imposing a differant standard would have just had the Florida State government send electors of their choice (as per the law).

This is just a bunch of sour grapes with no ground to stand on.

Diebold Corp, who has those nice little voting machines made sure their boy, GW got the Whitehouse. I was shocked that hardly anyone seemed to care. As a patriot, I say, "ONE VOTE STOLEN IS ONE TOO MANY!"

I don't care what party you belong too, but...If I'd voted for Bush in 2000 or 2004, I still would have been concerned if ONE American lost the right to vote

You know I feel almost as strongly as you do about him. He's a dishonest schmuck with loose morals.

However, the article is very well referenced. He backs up most hard claims with credible sources. I'd suggest you put your feelings aside and look it over, if for no other reason than to get the sources he draws from.

The faces on CNN that night- were noticably different.

IMO everyday real people dont want thrown fake elections.

The cynical, &  loose cannon that I am, I still believe the average Joe/Jane- wants correct vote counts.

Your reply "get over it already".

I think not!

This was, and is a serious matter.

If anything the electorate hasn't held this adminsitration acountable for anything.

It isn't that easy to just pencil in a "get over it".  [You are entitled to your opinion]

Always ask questions to authority- always.

Bush was installed by a Supreme court which was installed by his... arghh.

Nevermind. Chew bubblegum and be happy.

Regards-

This might have been news a year or two ago you mean.  Today it means nothing.  People are flapping their gums for nothing and dreaming up all these idiotic conspiracy theories because they did not get their own way.  Think about it from the outside, looking in.

hmm. I have thought about it.

The crowd that says "get over it", are.... soar winners.

Bush is a uniter?  Here we are united.

Diabold has some serious concerns. What plays in the USA, has ramifications all over the globe.

Diebold programming code was "found" online. The code to the voting machines.

People who voted FOR bush dont want to win via fake elections.

I dont write it off as a conspiracy theory. In my local town- I know it was done fairly. I know the folks overseeing the county elections. They would not allow fake results. If everyone minded their home turf- we would be fine.

We desparately need campaign finance reform.  You are hypnotised by corporate media. So thats why you view this as non-serious.

Check out democracy now. indy media, free speech tv. [how is the lumber tarrif dispute going, ?]

Thank god- bushes Social Security reform did not pass!

If it's true, Kenin, then it hardly "means nothing."  The only question is whether it's true, not whether it means anything.

It only means something because the Dem's did not get their way.  I will bet My dollars to your donuts that if the reverse result were found, everyone would shut the hell up.

Not only that not only that, but the electoral collage establishes then next president.  Not a few votes in a few select collages.  Sorry.

Wrong on both counts, Kenin.  If the reverse results were found, you can bet those same dollars to donuts that Fox News wouldn't let us hear the end of it.

And the electoral COLLEGE is determined by the popular vote in each state.  Obviously, if a state is a swing state (as Ohio and Florida usually are), a few thousand votes one way or the other can make all the difference.

My last position in Florida was legislative liasion to the Commission on Capital Cases.  Death Penalty cases take up approximately 50% of the Supreme Court's time, and i was honored to become acquainted with the Justices.  They are IMO just, intelligent and wise people, who rendered what they thought was a fair decision.

For all my complaints about Bush -- and they are legion -- i would not have wanted Gore in the White House on 9/11.

Why? Would he have been using those little flashlights they use at the airports to guide the hijackers in?
People that say this just blow my mind. Probably Gore (not a fan either) would have kept his eye on the ball and gone after Osama. Period. Instead of using 9/11 as an excuse to trample Americans rights, start opening torture camps on a global scale and being the first president ever (lol Art) to arbitrarily invade and occupy another country. So with Gore we may have had better success agaisnt terrorists instead of being on the verge of WWIII (thanks to Bush).

I don't think Gore would have initially done much different as to 911. Osama claimed credit, though SaudiArabians were more complcate as a whole than the country of Afghanistan. It was far past time that something was done in Afghanistan, and other countries. But i think a Dem Prez would not have done the Iraq mistake. ( my opinion ) Bush is not a " War " president. His minions are chicken hawks who had previous plans about Iraq. 911 and Afghanistan was the trigger they needed.
I think Gore would have also sent troops to Afghanistan, but kept more of them there, and finished the job better. To the benifit of that country and all of us. Iraq would have been left to deal with Saddam as the continueing sanctions left him powerless to be toppled by the Iraqi people, with the world in general keeping an eye on it to see how it ended up, and intervenining at some point with less needed military action.
As to how Gore would have handled the domestic front? I actually see less difference there, than in the Afghan/Iraq things. Domestic politics seem to be more homogenous as to Repub/Dem than foreign adventures. Someday, I hope you guys get a state healthcare system, and stop trying to destroy ours. :)

9-11 might not have happened with Gore in. Clinton had Osama on his active list...and he briefed bush on the list of top 5 concerns, Osama among. So Gore would have been tuned into this- as he was VP for 8 years.
Maybe only 3 planes would have hit. Maybe just 1. Maybe none. We will never know.

People love to critzise Hilary..but she did try to address health care reform in the 90s. She tried!

Note: Canada has a balanced budget. hint hint.

I dont view bush as a hero over  9-11. The firefighters are. The EMTs are. The people who helped are. Those are the heros.

I wont kiss his feet that we have had no attacks since then. Flawed logic. Thats like telling a neighbor- be happy I did not burn your house down since last time. [having keys and control of]

Clinton goofed with NAFTA and most favored nation status on China.

The public be dammed as usual.  Clinton whipped the USA into good financial shape, and frankly I like the guy. I wish he could run again. We had the longest peacetime expansion in history.  Remember? [or dont]

The ludracy of the election process reminds me of Pepsi vs Coke.

I would vote for Hilary.

BTW, I did contact my reps over the Canada bashing and how we must stop bashing. [Canada] ...(something about wood export trade)

-regards

i was always fond of John John, and saddened by his death.  It seemed to me he tried to make a contribution, despite the fact that no such effort was necessary  -- he was quite wealthy.

i don't always agree with Moore, and haven't seen all his films, but i think he is doing what no one else dares to do -- documentaries that point out "the Emperor has no clothes".

i'm just curious why You picked these two men -- whom i have some admiration for -- to denigrate when people like the CEO of Enron deserve it so much more.

BTW, I can't see how it makes any difference - but I am not a Democrat and I didn't vote for Gore. But in my state Gore won anyway, IIRC. My recollection is that no one thought Bush could win and everyone was stunned when he did.

I personally believe that the last two elections were stolen- that's 2000 and 2004. And it's not limited to the Presidency either. The Diebold machines in particular show a widespread pattern of voting fraud that I believe has been specifically engineered by Diebold. But there are dozens of other contributing factors also.

FWIW, Europeans as a rule think of the U.S. as mired in political fraud.

Time of day for the U.S.: sunset.
