ORIGINAL: pinkee My last position in Florida was legislative liasion to the Commission on Capital Cases. Death Penalty cases take up approximately 50% of the Supreme Court's time, and i was honored to become acquainted with the Justices. They are IMO just, intelligent and wise people, who rendered what they thought was a fair decision. For all my complaints about Bush -- and they are legion -- i would not have wanted Gore in the White House on 9/11. pinkee I don't think Gore would have initially done much different as to 911. Osama claimed credit, though SaudiArabians were more complcate as a whole than the country of Afghanistan. It was far past time that something was done in Afghanistan, and other countries. But i think a Dem Prez would not have done the Iraq mistake. ( my opinion ) Bush is not a " War " president. His minions are chicken hawks who had previous plans about Iraq. 911 and Afghanistan was the trigger they needed. I think Gore would have also sent troops to Afghanistan, but kept more of them there, and finished the job better. To the benifit of that country and all of us. Iraq would have been left to deal with Saddam as the continueing sanctions left him powerless to be toppled by the Iraqi people, with the world in general keeping an eye on it to see how it ended up, and intervenining at some point with less needed military action. As to how Gore would have handled the domestic front? I actually see less difference there, than in the Afghan/Iraq things. Domestic politics seem to be more homogenous as to Repub/Dem than foreign adventures. Someday, I hope you guys get a state healthcare system, and stop trying to destroy ours. :)
