General reply - I'm starting to understand why people jump ship here. "Off topic" is selectively applied and stating an opinion seems to be "violation" for some, but nothing more than "debate" for others. And no, I wasn't modded or anything. I just don't much care for what I see, which is too bad because I used to mostly like it here. Now, most of my favorite posters have been either driven away by the nonsense or forced away by administration. Without some higher-level discussion and dissension, there's not much I can find on these boards that I can't find on a recipe site. (No disrespect to the fabulous recipe threads.)

Some posts or accounts being modified here and there I can see if someone crosses the line - safety issues, stalking-like behavior, etc. To keep someone from posting, though - through either stones being thrown at them when they do post, or through moderator banishment - just because some don't like what they have to say is elitist. I'm not sure I like being a part of that, even if just by association.

I know - this has been discussed to death. I'm not starting it up again. I'm just now finally really bothered by it, enough to post something and enough to consider that maybe there is good reason why CollarChat has the reputation it does.

When the four lesbians were around, I disliked their approach and their attitude quite a bit. I chose not to put them on hide because, unfortunately, they contributed much to a thread and I would miss the meat of the discussion if I hid them. (I don't have anyone on hide.)

But...I simply did not reply to them much. They would try to engage me, I would simply not respond, and so they moved on to others who did engage them.

My point is, some people here very much liked the styles of those four and liked talking with and reading their posts. I hated it. I found them offensive and rude and childish and I couldn't imagine how anyone enjoyed a discussion with them or liked any of them enough to bandy about with them.

So how about if I like and enjoy the posting styles of some people who others find just as offensive as I found those four? How come other posters cannot choose to just not engage and leave the discussions and debates with them to those of us who enjoy it?

Oh, no...I'm not referring to off topic posts. I've come to believe that side conversations add to the fun of the discussion boards. That's kind of why I'm so careful to state something about dick-beating in every post. It's kind of a statement. :) (And see? I just did it again.)

Anyway, this last post was a carry-through of my earlier post about forum users leaving the boards, either by choice or by force. Sorry if it's not translating. (I assume everyone else is in my head with me.)

I am okay with dicks leaving. If they cannot handle the heat of the sausage cooking kitchen then let them find a kinder, gentler kitchen where they can nance around, trash talking the people that called them on their pomposity. For clarity's sake, my reference to off-topic posts in my earlier posting (#87) D is that some people's posts get pulled for being off-topic, some don't. I Deeming an off-topic post as a violation seems to be a C subjective and inconsistent K practice. I don't take issue B with the idea of an off-topic E post. (Obviously. :) I take issue with being worried whether A my off-topic post will survive, T or pulled, depending on I how somebody feels N about me that day. G
