It makes me horrified auntie! I still cringe when a grownup calls someone daddy who isnt her actual parent. Maybe always will. That's my thing, though, not a criticism. One of my ways of dealing with stuff that makes me o.O is to learn as much about it as I can, so I find these dialogues helpful.

One of my fet pals gave a good description of what her dynamic was like, and the qualities she was describing were a bit too damn familiar! So I am trying to be okay with nomenclature applying to more than one thing!

That would be awesome! We have such a blast together. Last time we hooked up though, there was an Earthquake. On the bright side, I'm pretty sure that Lowe's will let us back into the store. (Unless they took pics.. then it's iffy! lol)

Wow... banned from LOWE'S.

Oh no.. we weren't banned. (I'm not THAT much truble.) Let's just say that NV has first hand experience of how bad a liar I am. lol We went into Lowe's so I could show her the parts needed to make an Ugly Sister flogger so we were in the plumbing section and this guy comes up and ask of if we need help. We didn't. heheh He was pretty insistant that he wanted to help us though and wouldn't go away so started asking me a whole bunch of questions about the pipes we were looking at and stuff. My inclination was to blurt out that I was looking at supplies for an Ugly Sister flogger.. but I managed to save it with an explanation that I was doing a project that required plumbing supplies but wasn't actually a plumbing project.

I'm a power thinker.. which is why I like to write. It gives me time to compose what I like to say. On my feet, not so quick and I get tongue tied when I try to lie so it was kinda comical.

I did lie though.. that actually wasn't the last time we hooked up.. the last time was with NV, Himself and I at the Fish Market. No earthquake and we did have a good time and a wonderful meal. I think.. I think that was the last time.

Menopause still sucks. Are the brain cells you lose just.. gone forever or is there some hope they'll some day regenerate? lol

I laughed all over again at the Lowes incident. Too funny. He kept asking what pipe measurements we needed and exactly what we were trying to do, and we kept stuttering with "Welllllll....its kinda hard to explain..."

Fish Market was awesome, following a fun trip to Leather Masters, where we didn't have to lie about what we were looking for lol.

Welllll it includes a certain kind of piping, nickel chains (I think?) Some other odds n end hardware and rubbing alcohol.

It's ugly. And it hurts. And with the rubbing alcohol it is VERY cold.

Hello and sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I wanted to comment to NuevaVida and LadyHibiscus regarding their defense of the Daddy Dom concept.

I am very new here (this is my 3rd post) and I had no idea how I would fit into this lifestyle. I wrote an introductory thread in the appropriate forum and someone said they think I would fit as a Daddy Dom. After reading this thread, I think DarkSteven is right.

Absolutely, I would never have associated the concept with incest or age play. All of my romantic encounters have been me trying to fulfill my partner's desires with a genuine care for their well-being and satisfaction. Unfortunately, all of my relationships have failed and I always thought I was the problem, since I am the common denominator in my relationships. However, I have come to the conclusion that I have just never found the right woman, and now that I can put into words the type of love I offer, I hope I will do better in advertising what I have to offer.

So thank you both for being very clear about what this concept is. I hope to find the right woman someday, but at least now I have some clear direction. If you are interested in verifying my statements, please check out my "hello" thread!

Thank you again for your time!

Daddy is also about power.
As a "little", who is more powerful in life than your Daddy.

Definitely NOT about incest. Personally, it's not my favorite way to be addressed, but subs seem to see it as more affectionate and less harsh than Sir or Master, so at least early on, I've been known to allow it.

Being her Daddy is not about incest. That seems to be a common misconception though.

It is about the responsibililty I have to her, my role as teacher, mentor, disciplinarian when needed, and protector. The sense of honor and pride is awesome, to be able to be her Daddy. There are a whole set of guidelines that go along with that role, but for me it always comes down to remembering that my importance to her is only equalled by her importance to me.

I think that dharkling explained this topic quite well.
The bond between daughters and fathers is very special, as a son's bond is to his mother. Girls of all ages desire Daddy's love, approval and guidance. Subs who seek a Daddy Dom are seeking what dharkling spoke of, as well as the mature guidance that is lacking in their lives. A need is fulfilled in the giving and receiving of guidance.

Its all very loving and tender and there's an element of fun and playfulness as well.

I think this ^^^ describes accuretely enough my point of view on the Daddy-Dom dynamic

I think the concept of the "Daddy" and "little girl" thing is a regression to innocence that can be very darling and appealing if not taken to a dysfunctional extreme. (Thinking of tantrum in the toy aisle)

But, frankly, if you call me "Daddy" or "Papa" I geek off on old movies where the Kettles called each other "Ma" and "Pa" even to each other. <grin>

I call my dom Daddy...he loves it and so do I. It has nothing to do with incest, but everything to do with his total control of our home. Neither of us have children so maybe we do not associate the term with parenting as much as controlling.
