The difference between Rush Limbaugh and Bill Maher What is the difference between Rush Limbaugh calling Sandra Fluke a slut and a prostitute and Bill Maher calling Sarah Palin a twat and a cunt? I don't think that there is an answer that makes Bill any less guilty than Rush of using verbal abuse to bully a woman into silence and submission to keep her from having a voice in how we govern this country. While I don't that there is enough difference between Rush calling Sandra a slut and a prostitute and Bill calling Sarah a twat and a cunt that gives Bill the higher ground over Rush, there is an important difference between Sandra and Sarah worth mentioning. Sandra is a student who was asking for an opportunity to speak for her fellow students about their personal needs. She did not attack anyone. She did not fight with anyone. She only voiced her needs and the needs of others like her. Sarah is a powerful political and cultural figure who used verbal abuse to bully her way to power, fame and wealth. She pursued the most powerful position in the history of humanity by beating up and stepping on anyone and everyone in her way or that she could use to make her way. Sarah "Barracuda" Palin is a political predator. When Rush called Sandra a slut and a prostitute he was bullying an powerless innocent. When Bill called Sarah a twat and a cunt he was bullying a powerful bully. But that doesn't make what Bill did any better than what Rush did. Both Rush and Bill have considerable political power in this country (without even the tiniest amount of responsibility) and they use their power to affect the lives of hundreds of millions of people in this country and billions of people in the world.
