Limbaugh's inconsiderate remarks

Inconsiderate? Couldn't find a milder adjective?

I thought hilarious might do, but then I thought of the local audience

Wouldn't surprise me if Rush is recovering nicely.

A group calling itself "The Women of the 99 Percent" is making robocalls across the United States in an attempt to link Republican members of the House of Representatives to "the war on women led by Rush Limbaugh".

The automated calls are illegal because they do not state who they are from (there is no known group called The Women of the 99 Percent) or provide a callback number, as required under the US Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991.

Using the Left-wing "Occupy" terminology of the 99 percent versus the one percent, they appear to be the most aggressive attempt yet by Democrats to exploit politically the recent furore over comments by the controversial conservative radio talk show host.

bwahahahahaha

Wiki- List of most-listened-to radio programs

The total listenership for terrestrial radio in the year 2005 was 230 million.[3] Sirius XM Radio has a base of 18.5 million subscribers as of 2009.[4] American Top 40 attracts over 20 million listeners per week.[5] Rush Limbaugh's show has been the number one commercial talk show since at least 1991 when record keeping began.[1][2][6] NPR's Morning Edition and All Things Considered are the two most popular news programs.[7]

Rush Limbaugh's show has been the number one commercial talk show since at least 1991 when record keeping began

Limbaugh is listed at +15m weekly listeners

I love how the left is dancing and prancing. Limbaugh's inconsiderate remarks reminds me of Patton slapping a soldier. In the end it may be beneficial.

Are we to take from this that talk radio is held as the heighth of culture or political discourse, then? The fact that talk shows have predominated the airwaves for more than two decades is considered a cultural downgrade for many people aspiring to a better society.

And no, don't even start with that "so, you are so high and mighty" crap just as self-appropriated demanded response of those who choose the gutter sanctuary of non-thought.

(Don't ask me to explain that last sentence. I can neither explain it nor am I willing to let the thought process behind it out of the attic).

Please, drop the 'just an entertainer' rap. Jerry Falwell was just 'another voice' as we were told, though he significantly influenced matters.

Falwell and Limbaugh did (still does, in the latter case) their job as political cowpokes, driving the weakest of the herd to the politicians most desperate for them.

Those trying to propound the notion that Limbaugh is the only resource of contrary view or voice of discontent are displaying illiteracy, and even that as a point of pride.

I would think there was no need to ATTEMPT to link the repubs...bills and attempts to push thru bills with Rushs rant..
there are so many facts to not only link it, but to prove it a billion times.
The whole verbiage is pathetic.
Its a direct cause, AND joint partner in the war against women and their health
so Ill treat it with the contempt it deserves.
Its an opinion piece from the daily mail for fucks sake!!!

Sandra Fluke, a law student at Georgetown University who was advocating for health insurance plans to cover the cost of contraception, became the target of a series of attacks by Limbaugh. Besides calling her a "slut," he also called her a "prostitute," said that he wanted her to make sex tapes and post them online, and speculated that she only had a problem paying for contraception because she was having "so much sex."

We who support Ms. Fluke, find that this is a serious offense enacted by Mr. Limbaugh and we ask that his radio show be terminated.

Rush Limbaugh's radio show is a part of the Clear Channel lineup. Let's send a message to them that no longer can they allow Rush Limbaugh the opportunity to spew hateful and sometimes derogatory comments. Sign the petition and help get this done.

Sign the petition: http://signon.org/sign/clear-channel-discontinue

Even though I signed the petition, because I think he's a total buffoon both the above one and the one a few posts down (dealing with advertisers) is really barking up the wrong tree.

They shouldn't beg to have him removed because he hurt a little girls feelings (I remember he called Chelsea Clinton, when Bill was still in office, one of "the ugliest kids I've ever seen")...the petitions should go much farther in their requests and definitions of reasons.....he's a PUTZ.

He brings nothing useful to the table.

And he's a moron.

THAT's why he should be taken off the air.

And who ARE these "those of us"... Oh, wait you're a straw account sort of like those "The Women of the 99 Percent" which don't exist, except in foreign hoaxes. You sure that's "giggle cream"?

http://www.politico.com/blogs/media/2012/03/for-your-consideration-the-limbaugh-law-116990.html

The American Forces Network is coming under increased pressure to stop carrying Rush Limbaugh’s radio show. On Monday, a group of female veterans called on the Armed Forces Network to drop the show, and yesterday Senate Armed Services Committee chairman Carl Levin said he would "love to see them drop it," but added that he probably wouldn't push through legislation.

Nevertheless, Rep. Timothy Ryan (D-OH17) yesterday introduced to congress H.R. 4189, which proposes the following:

To require the Secretary of Defense to provide an annual certification that all programming on the American Forces Radio and Television Service represents the best-faith efforts by the Department of Defense to provide programming for members of the Armed Forces and their families that communicates the policies, priorities, programs, goals, and initiatives of the Department while avoiding airing programming that exhibits values contrary to the values of the Armed Forces and the United States.

Sponsor: Rep. Timothy Ryan [D-OH17]

Status: This bill is in the first step in the legislative process. Explanation: Introduced bills and resolutions first go to committees that deliberate, investigate, and revise them before they go to general debate. The majority of bills and resolutions never make it out of committee. [Last Updated: Mar 9, 2012 12:16PM]

sure:

because he preaches virility and rugged individualism while he is clearly a limpdicked, porcine huckster who has grovelled for every filthy dollar he has ever pocketed. he has grown so lumpy and flaccid that only the most willfully blind schmuck is taken in any more by his bellowing about "men's rights" and "feminazis" and everyone can clearly see now his misogyny stems from never getting over being the fat boy too scared of girls to ask one out in high school. there may have been a time years ago when he rode the razor's edge between the kind of racial dog whistling that played in peoria and outright hamfisted racism but he long ago lost his balance and has been squarely in the camp of crass and undisguised racist bullshit for a very long time now. people who still see the good in limbaugh are themselves such wastes that they will never be swayed and everyone else, even the kinds of smug white dudes who may have found him seductive at one time now tends to look at him and feel revulsion. it would be impossible to create a more devastating parody of white middle class american values than the one limbaugh is living. every day he is on the air it is like displaying a beheaded burger's face on a pike in front of his burning estate. he is a dumb, feeble, impotent laughingstock and the best thing is he will continue to debase and humiliate himself and all his "values" day after day after day because he does not have it within him to stop himself.

The Republicans - Smaller Government

Let's take the decision making process away from the Secretary Of Defense, BEFORE HE USES IT.

The Republicans - Less Regulation / Smaller government.

i'm not all that interested in the upcoming election. it pits one wing of the american property party vs the other wing of the american property party. there are differences between the two putative american parties that matter to people who want to tweak but preserve the status quo, but i'm not among them.
