Shrimp* is one of the many proscriptions in Leviticus that people who are keen to cite the whole "no gayness" thing as a biblical directive are happy to ignore, Skip. Often a lot of the people bitching about the Bibble banning gayness are covered in ink (Leviticus bans tats) and have got their end away before marriage (also bad news in Leviticus), but don't seem as interested in those verses for some reason. One would hope that they've not had to stone a daughter to death because she was raped, but they're already ignoring enough that forgetting that bit won't cause any further cognitive dissonance.

Constantine (not pagen, wheoever he was) described Christianity as "a religion for slaves and children", but he did convert, albeit only on his deathbed.

I think Wolf meant 'a pagan emperor', Moonie.

Little correction constantine converted much earlier in his life. He was only baptised at the end of his life. Because he wanted to be absolved of all his sins. He knew he had a lotta killing to do still. He was a calculating smartass.
He converted after a battle when a priest promised him he would win the battle if he carried the sign of jesus.

I know.
It's old fashioned of me, I know, but if you ain't been baptised, then you ain't converted, either. Them's the rules if you're a Catholic rather than a Baptist, dig?

Ummm, last I checked most men don't have vaginas. Does that make his comments clearer?

~LG

This is how I read it too - i.e., you can't have vaginal sex with an anatomically correct male.

Along with Bita's wonderful contribution regarding urethral play, I have two words.  Anal fucking.

Yeah Im a so called roman catholic because I was baptised as such. In the pope's brown eye I will always be catholic, he just calls me a fallen one. Do you really think I give a fuck, what the Ratsinger thinks of me?
But you can bet I will use anything against the vatican to make them suffer like my brethren. They call satan the fallen one as well.

I've heard it argued that the one, central moral principle that underpins all others is 'Do unto others as you'd have them do to you'. Sometimes I think the Bible would have been better had this been all that was written in it.

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you...

Otherwise, crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentation of the women...

Excellent. Though it does come perilously close to saying that women go around whining.

Sigh. That's just so wrong.

It's "were" -- subjunctive mood.
