There are certainly occasions when I'm less than nice to people here.  I freely admit to having an extremely low tolerance for stupid and lazy people and sometimes those people get a virtual bitchslap.

She's had a bee in her bonnet over me ever since I dared question one of her bizarre statements in this thread on safewords.  God forbid anyone should ever have a different opinion than her or fail to knuckle under when she starts launching ad-hominem attacks instead of backing up her absurd beliefs.  You can clearly see in that thread, it's pretty much her SOP when she comes up against people who aren't immediately cowed by her "wit" and vitriol.  She's our modern day incarnation of Shakespearean sound and fury, nothing more.

They don't really have a choice of it being free or not. They can either foot the bill or get revenue from ads. If they made it a pay site they would have like 1% of its current membership paying and the rest would leave. But then you already know that.

You seem to have me confused with someone that was complaining about the ads. I try not to get involved in the petty squabbles that seem to include at times those that call themselves dominant and in control of themselves, but sheesh....until you take a poll of every stinking member on these forums, or talk to them yourself, the sweeping generalization that "so many" have a problem with stef is juvenile.  Who made you the authority of the opinions of ALL or MOST of the members here...I have been here about the same period of time as you, and while I don't have quite as many posts, I would say it is safe to say by counting the ones I do have , I am no newbie to these boards. I will also say, in my memory, I have seen a few times when there has been vitriol hurled at stef, but it seems to be from those that are not happy she is speaking her mind.  **Scratches head**  Will someone remind me what the purpose of these forums are again? I thought it was being ABLE TO SPEAK YOUR MIND.  And as for defending the weak and helpless on these forums, when you post on here, you are opening your comments to other views....if you don't like that the only way I can see around it, is to keep your mouth shut.  I think the ones that comment on these forums for the most part, are aware of that, and are willing to still speak, and don't expect you  to so valiantly jump to their defense. There are some phrases that jump to mind, that are pretty well known:

I stick up for the "weak" (as you put it) as its something I choose to do, always have and always will. See here's how it works. "They" post a message or question, "Ste" slams them and I slam "Ste" as do others (not typos). As you said, free to post ones opinion. To give you some of your own advice back "if you don't like that the only way I can see around it, is to keep your mouth shut". Speaking ones mind is the point of the forums. But just being rude and caustic out of spite over personal issues isnt fair to others nor to newbies. I mean hell look at "Ste's" profile and sigs. Its all about calling people lasy, stupid, people are like slinkies, no use but fun to watch falling downstairs. Real charmer right? Then ask your self how it is that some people get away with being hostile like that and others are not allowed to, hmm ?
