V.P. Biden Threatens to Impeach The President

I posed the question on another thread:

quote:

ORIGINAL: Oath Of Office for VPOTUS since 1884

I, ________ ___________, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.

So, given that the current failure-in-chief has now deployed the military to two different actions without congressional approval, will the VP stand up, as he promised an room full of people he would do?

My guess is: since the video is from a time when he was talking about King George II, he won't be very motivated to move against the current office holder. Why? Well, I would say "movable moral boundaries" (But, don't quote me).

Peace and comfort,

Michael

Biden, as VP has no power to impeach the president--only Congress can do that.

A declaration of war isn't required to send troops to fight somewhere, so the OP's point, like most right-side-of-the-isle anti-Obama garbage, has no relevance or basis in fact, its just the result of being misguided and ill-informed.

... says they lady who obviously didn't watch the video and doesn't understand the point. Hearings are already being held. But, why bother yourself with factual details.

Go back to your "War BY Women".

We're done here.

Honestly, I think the Panetta portion of the video is far more serious than the opportunity to slap Vice-President Biden (figuratively, of course) on his hypocritical grandstanding. Joe, and all the Obamabots as well, will only care about this stuff when a future President they don't like, makes use of the precedents of this administration.

Well, I think, since he's on record being so adament, it points out the hypocrisy. Worse yet, it's his duty to defend the constitution.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

I certainly see it, Michael, and I hope he catches some hell over it. Panetta sitting there in front of the committee though, claiming that the legal authority for the US to go to war comes from NATO or the UN, and they just need to advise Congress about what they are up to... As the Congressman said, breathtaking.

Lying us into the damm war in the 1st place.

And getting 4500 good, brave, courageous men and women killed for NOTHING

But we know you cons need your coping methods......make pretend is one of them...........just behind denial........just ahead of shirk.

President Bush got away with. Your boy can still find himself in some deep doo-doo. I wonder ... How many Republican Presidents have been impeached? None you say?

To be fair, at the time that Lincoln was President, the Republican party more resembled a progressive democratic party and he almost got impeached. But, the only two to ever be impeached were both democrats. Yep, they're the leaders!

If these hearing proceed (and ever get any press coverage), we might see our third. Very interesting.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

You forgot to add: "and in the same breathe as when you talk about personal responsibility".

I've sent you some memory pills in the post.

This is slightly off topic but it is another war-related matter that the US press is apparently ignoring.

More and more evidence is emerging in the non-US media that the recent atrocity in Afghanistan was not the work of a single individual but of a group, possibly two groups of US soldiers. I have posted some of this evidence on the "U.S. Serviceman shoots Afghan civilians" thread in post #85 here

No. That's when he got elected.

President Bush left office in 2009, by the way but, well played.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

Nixon would surely have been impeached if he hadn't quit.

Its funny....you all argue about the same things...but really whats the difference? Obama got us into wars too. What you have to do is look at the bigger picture. They work for a lot of the same people. And it aint we the people either one of them are working for. All their bickering is a big game. Its like a tv movie, except it only ends when people wake up and say fuck em both and switch to a third party...which probably wont happen. so until then, banks, unions, cartels, and oilmen own america. And not many of them are even americans.
