My my my.....This isnt ending anytime soon......

http://www.addictinginfo.org/2012/03/22/arizona-republican-wants-to-force-women-to-witness-an-abortion-before-having-one/

"Arizona Rep. Terri Proud is an extremist anti-abortion conservative. She supports HB 2036 , which would ban abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy. She also supports HB 2635, which would allow employers to refuse to cover birth control, and all they need is to declare a religious reason for the refusal. Arizona Republicans also want to force women to tell their employer what they use birth control for before an employer will cover it, and are considering legislation (HB 2800) that would slash funding to Planned Parenthood. It’s safe to say that Arizona, perhaps more than any other state, has declared war on women. But Republicans aren’t through yet, and if Terri Proud has her way, women in Arizona will have to watch an abortion procedure before they can go through with an abortion themselves.

In an email response to a constituent who opposes HB 2036, Proud said she thinks women should be forced to watch a doctor perform an abortion before being allowed to get the procedure as well."

Don't these people believe that you need a BIRTH CERTIFICATE and be a CITIZEN to get any benefits from the government?

Where`s Johny?

Imagine it AZ Senator John McCain were president now?

The rightists would that much more emboldened and do-nothing Jonhy would be doing nothing about it, as POTUS.

So. Why shouldn't women be required to watch an abortion before going through the procedure? Then they fully know what they are getting into and what exactly will happen.

This is called informed consent. She is better informed before consenting. Being better informed is a good thing, because if nothing else it should avoid the many mental post abortion issues women report having, like when they see chidren playing in the playground and think of what might have been and then crying again for the millionth time. You think I've not heard this from so many women over the years? It's amazing how many, I would say the majority of women experience this post abortion depression for life.

So, it seems to me the GOP is looking out for women and their babies and not trying to "war" on them. Well done, Arizona. Again.

Are you their owner to decide what's in their best interest, or do you just like sticking your nose into other people's business?

Me? I don't make laws in the state of Arizona. There are however, those who were elected by the State of Arizona to look out for the common good. To protect life, liberty and protect their right to pursue happiness. The people of Arizona think it is best to do it this way so who are you to stick your nose in their business?

Now, back to my point, what is wrong with informed consent and how does one get informed best? Why, by seeing it happen of course. That is best, without question. A picture is worth a thousand words, right? Right.

Those only apply to Citizens and those with valid birth certificates, right? These "Unborn" ain't Citizens, and they don't have birth certificates, so they can go move to mexico or something.

That's between a patient and their doctor. WHO THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU ARE STICKING YOUR NOSE INTO A DOCTOR'S EXAM ROOM? Do you think she's your property, or do you just like sticking your nose where it doesn't belong?

Yeah, I was reading this the other day in the local paper. Looking over the comments section for this article, it looks like Rep. Proud is getting slammed pretty heavily over this.

quote:

Proud declined repeated requests for an interview. Instead, she issued a statement saying her response to Lees "emphasized my concerns with how abortion providers have not been honest with women about the realities of abortion, and the short and long-term risks of this dangerous surgical procedure."

And she noted the Legislature already has required a woman who wants to terminate a pregnancy to have an ultrasound and be given "the opportunity to view the picture of her child before an abortion."

Proud was more blunt in a Facebook post.

"I always try to answer every email that I receive - friendly or hostile," she wrote.

"I don't apologize for emails I state are my personal opinion," Proud continued. "I may not be cut out to be a politician, but I am cut out to be a Representative."

"Representative of who and representative of what?" Lees said after reading Proud's Facebook post.

...

In her Facebook post, Proud suggested she might have been set up.

"It's sad that the Left like to play 'I gotcha' games through emails," she wrote.

Apparently, she also wants men seeking intercourse to be forced to watch an actual birth.

quote:

“I also want men seeking intercourse to be forced to watch an actual birth.” Proud adds she believes Tucsonans in her district who are considering voting for her should be forced to watch her terminate women’s reproductive rights in Phoenix before they make their difficult choice in the voting booth.

You choose to redirect rather than stand your ground and answer why informed consent is bad and why you are sticking your nose in Arizona's business, they are all adult voters there and can take care of it themselves.

I notice when you cannot answer the question or debate a point you resort to cursing.

Again, I'm not doing anything of the sort. The people of Arizona decide this by electing their Government. This is how it works. If they don't like it then they can change it. Now, even Doctors must follow the law of Arizona if they practice there. Yes? No? Why yes, of course they must.

So, again, why do you stick your nose in their business?

Ok, cupcake, you wanna fuckin' dance?

I call bullshit on your whole premise.

Let's see your proof that

1) 'seeing it happen of course' is 'best without question'

and

2) 'a picture is worth a thousand words'?

Consider: "can viewing a video answer all the questions a patient might have?" and "what if a picture is worth 500 words?"

Don't go writing checks you can't cash...

Informed consent and the level of detail provided to support that requirement can and is dictated by Law and not up to each individual Doctor and patient according to what I am reading and I'm very sure the people of Arizona decide this and not me or you and cursing will not change that.

So, if the people of Arizona decide women and men for that matter, should see what they are getting into before they get into it I would think that a good thing. Why would providing the maximum infomation to the woman or the man be a bad thing? Do you like being ill-informed or just closing your eyes and making life changing decisions? And what about the post-abortion depression suffered by those who were not fully informed before giving consent?

When did the Citizens of Arizona become incompetent wards of the state requiring supervision?

When I have an operation, no matter what kind, I'll be damned if it'll be witnessed by anyone other than the operating staff. Anything else would violate HIPAA.

Who the hell is that wacko to decide that an abortion will be viewed by complete strangers with no legitimate medical purpose?

"Calling Bullshit" is kinda meaningless here and a bit crude.

I think the law will include video and question and answer. That would be likely don't you think? I do. So, I've no clue why you are even sticking your nose into the people of Arizona's business like you know better than the population of that State on what is good for them.

More to the point? Will the taxpayers have to subsidize the production and distribution of what is arguably pornography?
