Congratulations, alandra!
Your IQ score is 138
This number is based on a scientific formula that compares how many questions you answered correctly on the Classic IQ Test relative to others.

Your Intellectual Type is Visionary Philosopher. This means you are highly intelligent and have a powerful mix of skills and insight that can be applied in a variety of different ways. Like Plato, your exceptional math and verbal skills make you very adept at explaining things to others — and at anticipating and predicting patterns. And that's just some of what we know about you from your IQ results.

Okay, it's obvious to me that these IQ tests are faulty as all get out ..... alandra, couldn't you have fibbed and said your score was lower than mine??

Now, this lovely lady here has the right idea.... she got the same score as me, which is acceptable.

Hey Level,

Actually, with an IQ of 131, you should have figured out you can edit the text you put in here, and just have written 227 from the get go.  Then you know anyone who scores higher than you is a liar.

Yours,

benji

From what I've been able to see, we are a pretty intelligent bunch.  Since I would think that many of us have been measured at a range of numbers, these are not carved in granite--- probably more like firmly cast in Jello.

On the very bright side, a psychologist friend of mine says that any IQ test is the minumum level at which one functions, and only a measure of the function that day or during that instance.  So we are probably all a lot smarter than these tests and our schools thought we were or are.

the site is as follows:
http://web.tickle.com/tests/uiq/index-pop.jsp?sid=2647&supp=nopop&z=
You may need to look for a search box.  If you find a search box but don't find the test, enter "Classic IQ Test" without the quotes around it in that box.  That's how I found it.

Have fun!!

Gawd I have never faired well with word problems.....If Sally leaves her house at 1 am and drives 500 miles at 65mph and Jean leaves her house at 2 am and drives 700 miles at 75mph......oh...my hair even hurts at this point.

Well.... all I can say is that I thought I answered every question correctly, so those of you who scored in the 140's…. and above ----- I'm hella impressed.   - R

PS - A while back I thought that I had read somewhere George Bush took a test and scored 110 -115 range??  Also know that both Clinton and Nixon were very smart and in the 150 -160's

I don't think that this is the best example of an IQ test. Not sure what the ceiling is on it but I too, had thought I had answered all of the questions correctly. I have been tested professionally 5 times in the past and my scores were always between 162 and 167 so this result was a little surprising. They also have tests geared more towards children. One of the tests that I had taken was when I was about 9. I have heard that your score will actually fluctuate very little over the course of your life as they are not really testing your level of knowledge but your capacity to learn and retain information and your problem solving abilities.

Well, it's true.  That test isn't complex enough to produce a very high ceiling.  But I'm not going to write a long disquisition about I.Q. tests.

Actually (this is more for mistoferin), people's I.Q. scores can vary considerably.  It depends on the test, for one thing, because they don't all have the same ceiling.  And even the time of day can make a difference.  You need to get several scores on several different tests before you have a meaningful sense of a child's range.  (I don't believe I.Q. tests serve any useful function except possibly to identify gifted children--but that's another matter too.)

Ok, just for fun, I went through the test and answered every single question wrong to see what the result would be.

Congratulations, Celeste!
Your IQ score is 73
This number is based on a scientific formula that compares how many questions you answered correctly on the Classic IQ Test relative to others. (Which was zero. I'm surprised it let me have an IQ at all!)

Your Intellectual Type is Inventive Inquisitor. (I think that means you just make up shit as you go along.) You have the unusual distinction of being equally good at math and verbal skills. (Equally in this case means, you suck at both.) This means you are a creative thinker and are uniquely good at teaching others through experiences. (Because experience is all you have, honey. Not a brain cell to be found!) You are also a great improviser and very good at handling change. (As long as it's not making change for a dollar!)

Ok, that was fun. Next? ::laughs::

Your IQ score is 115
This number is based on a scientific formula that compares how many questions you answered correctly on the Classic IQ Test relative to others.

Your Intellectual Type is Word Warrior. This means you have exceptional verbal skills. You can easily make sense of complex issues and take an unusually creative approach to solving problems. Your strengths also make you a visionary. Even without trying you're able to come up with lots of new and creative ideas. And that's just a small part of what we know about you from your test results.
