integrity, honesty, clean meaning no drugs, no alcoholics, conservative, sexy looking, height/weight proportionate, trustworthy, firm but fair, someone who listens, someone who is calm and rational instead of angry, dominant personality.

Give me time and I'm sure I can come up with more. Those are just a small list of qualities.

Confidence, patience, respectful, good communication skills. Your basic good relationship skills.

Focuses on problem solving instead of looking for an excuse to punish. Because when you choose not to solve the problem, then that says you want it to recur so you can 'punish' again. Which indicates to me that they are conflicted about their sexuality, cannot openly acknowledge sadistic impulses. And need to work on that issue instead of taking it out on someone else.

Confident and assertive, responsible, reliable, straightforward, open and honest (transparent,) mature, versatile and resourceful, firm but considerate and fair, loyal and dedicated, honorable, respectful, possessive and protective, physically larger than me, ambitious, strong (mentally and physically,) courageous, passionate, very physical (frequent affectionate touch with their partner is an essential thing,) caring, happy and positive, self-disciplined and takes care of himself well, consistent, and possessing great integrity.

I'm sure there are other traits I find endearing and important, but these are just the ones off the top of my head.

What really intrigues me is when a guy can get that nice balance between being somewhat harsh on the outside, but o so sweet and caring once you dig down a bit.

The same qualities I'd seek in any partner: honesty, intelligence, compassion, wisdom, creativity, wit, strong problem solving skills, self-control, excellent communicator. Add to that similar philosophies on D/s relationships and it's pretty much all good!

A man who can take charge, who compels me to submit, who believes me worthy of submitting to him. A man worth submitting to and therefore becoming his charge, his responsibility, his love, his slave, who will push my limits just a little farther each time, to break me down so we can build me back up again, stronger and able to take more next time. Always growing and learning.
My Master has all those qualities and more. But since you specifically asked what qualities does a sub look for in a dominant, I will keep my anwer limited to that.

Manners and aggression honestly. Not being unkind or mean about it. However, when I do something incorrect I expect a punishment and the structure I need my Dominant to provide. However, I am very serious on the manners.
