Communism is a revolutionary socialist movement to create a classless, moneyless, and stateless social order structured upon common ownership of the means of production, as well as a social, political and economic ideology that aims at the establishment of this social order.

The neo-cons and tea-baggers (in the guise of the GOP) would be the closest fit to this philosophy of governance.

They are classless (and I mean that in more than the obvious way which they certainly are) in that they will side on the cry poor when convienient so long as they can insure corporations rule.

They do have us moneyless skinning every last dollar out of our billfolds to insure that the corporations are corpulent.

Stateless, we certainly are that without jobs which they shipped overseas for decades.

Their dictators at the corporation controls the means of production, and will slash more minor competition whenever the communist-GOP can relax the regulations.

Their bills establish this social order repeatedly, with invasive assaults on our privacy, and constant legislation of morality.

It's like Animal Farm, Rich.

Isn't it interesting, DC, how the political season rhetoric of the right must be taken literally, while we all just know the Democrats are only being clever when they go orgiastic over accusations of Republicans wanting to push old people over a cliff?

Surely you don't need to google, "metaphor," do you?

You can't be serious. The repubs have given new meaning to the words, hypocrisy, demagoguery, chutzpah and propaganda, the repetitiveness of which is designed to make us all believe them and with many...it's working.

I think he knows this and is just trying to get a rise out`a folks by saying some ridiculously over the top opposite thing.....like bashing dolphins for being so ruthless against Japanese fishermen.......

There are unfortunately.....many extremists who do believe their own hype, like this jack ass,Allen.

West...........will be one I`m looking out for from now on.

When West was commanding a unit in Iraq,he lost a few men(or man) for a bit and thought they had been taken hostage by the Iraqis.

So West here get`s the bright idea to torture an Iraqi policemen buy shooting his pistol right next to his naked ear......

Turns out the policemen didn`t know where the GI`s were.

Opps.....

Lucky he didn`t shoot the policemen 1st.......like a Zimmerman......

But then again, the dead Iraqi would have mattered even less than a black kid in Florida to the folks who voted this world-class fuck up.......West, into office.

What exactly was metaphoric by saying, and I quote, "I believe there's about 78 to 81 members of the Democrat Party who are members of the Communist Party. It's called the Congressional Progressive Caucus."?

Given that 52 percent [of Mississippi voters] classified [Obama] as a Muslim last month, there's a need to vigorously refute.

That's 52% of likely GOP primary voters. Not 52% of all Mississippi GOP voters, not 52% of all Mississippi voters, not 52% of all eligible to vote in Mississippi.

Though there are occasions when the need to refute is warranted (witnessed here), such refutation does little or no good in changing firmly ingrained (mis)perceptions  (witnessed repeatedly in this forum) significantly more than 52% of the time.

In any event, Communists are godless, so we should be happy to have them in congress as a bulwark against a Muslim president.

It took you over 4 hours to come back with "but they did it first"? You're slipping there owner.

Thanks for keeping track of the hours.......

What else do you do w/ your free time?

no problem, I aim to please.

and it really didn't take much time at all to look at the time stamp on your post and look at the time the op was created. left lots of free time to go to the park and read a bit and do a few sudoku puzzles. now I could have spent that time worrying about the communists in congress, but I think I will hold off on that one for a later time. Somehow I don't think the threat is that bad yet.

I really do hope the Werewolf caucus of the Democratic party in the house can protect us from the radical ideas pushed by the vampire caucus of the Republicans...
I hear the Tea Party are trying to run Hamilton as a Ghost-American...

I invoke Godwinski's law.

It's like Godwins law, except the first person to accuse the other of being a communist loses.

No, he equated his Lab's intellect and political acumen to that of West. There is a difference that may be too subtle for people who equate pubic hair jokes to be the same as the SBVT lies.

One has to wonder how he got to be so old and so ignorant at the same time. Capitalism is antithetical to free markets and individual economic freedom...and yet this idividual would have us believe that they are one in the same.

Yes, that is the sad part, but not necessarily because he's deluded - it's because so what? It's not against the law to be a communist, it's a perfectly valid viewpoint, there is nothing in the constitution that precludes a person from being a communist, or communism, capitalism could use the competition, and no real capitalist is afraid of a little competition, a good capitalist should be able to beat a good communist hands down.

i.e., maybe a communist party is just the sort of foil capitalism needs to keep it honest, otherwise, if communism's critics are not true capitalists, they must be something else.

I vote for sneaky, underhanded, corrupt, and careless with the public trust. And getting defensive about it is just abetting that by responding to fear tactics by becoming afraid.

Instead the dems should invite a few communists, if they can find any, to state their case before the American people.

It should be patently clear to anybody with a brain anyway at this point, that capitalism and socialism work systematically - socialism is hindered by it's incomplete symbiosis with capital distribution through markets by distributing according to need rather than productivity, capitalism is hindered by the fact that capital seeks capital, rather than need, and markets frequently bypass need in order to service capital.

A sustainable economy should address both, need, because that's why and economy exists to begin with, and capital because capital begets capital.

I think when you get a capital black hole like we have now, where capital isn't working - i.e., all this liquidity that banks and corporations are hoarding, after telling us all these years that capital needs to be put to work to be useful and using that as an excuse to raid pension funds and cannibalize industry and retail, what has changed? I mean other than distortions in capital apportionment in markets (to incur more debt mostly, redistribution, not capital creation) has pretty much put a big fucking hole in the bottom of everybody's boat, their own included.

i.e., if the markets cannot apportion capital where it will do the most good, then maybe we ought to discuss other ways of doing that, so that it gets done, i.e., back to wealth creation, and attendant capital formation.

A little socialism is a small price to pay to keep capitalism alive, otherwise, it's on a respirator, and China's holding the fucking plug.

It need sot be said, said and understood, we need to get past this nanny-nanner-nah-nah, yo-u're a com-mie bullshit, what are we, a bunch of fucking children?

We know neither is a panacea, we need to quit fucking around and find a synthesis that works, you have socialism all the same, the military, the penal system, national security, etc., the only thing being accomplished by not admitting that these are socialist systems and we need them - as socialist sub-systems - support structures for capitalism - is allowing a bunch of corrupt assholes to steal their tax funding to feather their own nests - and call it capitalism!

It's not, and at that point, shit - you're a fucking commie! That's what commies do!

Just checked West's House and campaign sites, and neither mentions the "communists" claim.

If he didn't mean what he said, he's had ample opportunity to post a clarification.

Well, it was suggested earlier on this very thread that, being a conservative, West was unfairly being taken literally when he might have been speaking metaphorically. Being, despite my brain-narrowing liberalism, a fair-minded sort, I figured I'd give him a few days to see if he said, "No, actually I wasn't imitating Joe McCarthy. I was using a metaphor/image to make a political point." So far as I know, he has not said anything along those lines.

Okay. His statement through staff may be as close as you get, DC. He puts the hard left in the communist camp for descriptive purposes. You're offended enough to find issue with his choice of imagery. In a climate where any acknowledgement of the unsustainability of programs as they stand is characterized as a sociopathic desire to gleefully execute the vulnerable, sorry, but I'm going with, "oh well."

Nope. Absolutely no need to google "metaphor" at all. Metaphors can be wonderful things and quite useful on occasion. Sadly TH this fruitcake West wasn't using a metaphor. He was making an accusation, a very loaded accusation with a very tarnished history and derogatory connotations in the US.

Surely you don't need to google "accusation," do you?
