CLEVELAND (AP) — Occupy protesters must ask serious questions about their open-arms policy in light of charges brought against five members accused of trying to blow up an Ohio bridge.

Occupy TERRORISM... the champions of the Left!!!   The OWS idiots are scum!!!

TheHeretic -> RE: Just some fun loving Occupy bridge bombers (5/2/2012 8:01:28 PM)

It's intriguing, how their plan went from bringing down some bank signs, to blowing up a bridge. Have you seen the mugshots of these assholes?

From LizDeluxe's link:

"Bill Dobbs, a spokesman for Occupy in New York, also said the arrests have nothing to do with the Occupy movement that began last fall.
"This incident has nothing to do with Occupy Wall Street, which explicitly stands for non-violence," he said."

And what else is a spokehole going to say, Peon? I think the statements of the suspects are clearer and cleaner than anything he'll come up with. Watch for the spin to move towards entrapment, if the whole story doesn't just dry up and blow away.

It won't be easy for the Occupists to clean house, and clean up their image, because they deliberately don't have a house to clean.

Why not ask YSG? He's from the area.

Or better yet.. why not contact the Cleveland Occupy Movement Folks themselves and make your concerns known to them. I am sure they would feel honored to hear from such concerned citizens ... They gave the following statement and offer up their contact info in the context of the statement:

Statement Concerning May 1st Events in Cleveland

Had to take it out because Rich and His Collarchat GF are already fantasizing what the poor Occupy Cleveland folks will taste like with Fava Beans...

May 1, 2012 – Cleveland – While the persons arrested Monday evening by the FBI have participated in Occupy Cleveland events, they were in no way representing or acting on behalf of Occupy Cleveland. Occupy Cleveland has affirmed the principles of non-violence since its inception on October 6, 2011.

Occupy Cleveland has spoken out and worked against violence in all its forms, including:

Wars and occupations
Economic violence of financial inequality, unemployment, debt, and foreclosure
Social violence of racism, sexism and homophobia
Environmental violence of global warming and fracking

Occupy Cleveland believes the only way to respond to a violent federal and corporate state is through active non-violence.

It is unfortunate that this occurred on the eve of May Day, the day the Occupy movement and workers around the world have taken to the streets, demanding justice. What has happened in no way discredits the issue and the non-violent methods of Occupy Cleveland and the Occupy movement worldwide.

Boy, Katie is in for a shock, isn't she, the next time she Googles herself, and finds one her comrades from Boston has posted her name and number on a pervert site?

Classy bunch, these Occupists. Classy!

Unfortunately, for this dip-stick (and OWS supporters), both ACTIONS and PICTURES speak louder than words.

From the cited story :

http://www.seattlepi.com/news/article/Cleveland-won-t-renew-Occupy-group-s-permit-3526504.php

quote:

The five were charged Tuesday with plotting to bomb a bridge linking two wealthy Cleveland suburbs by placing what they thought were real explosives at the site and repeatedly trying to detonate them using text messages from cellphones, according to the FBI affidavit.

On Wednesday, an attorney representing one of the defendants questioned the role of an undercover informant, saying the ex-con hired by the FBI appeared to have played an active role in the plot.

Clearly, this was not an "Occupy" operation. It was an FBI operation. When one considers how many millions believe in the Occupy movement, it is easy to see how the FBI could find a few stupid enough to be led by the nose in to such a crazy plot. While it would be wrong to tar the rest of these millions of people with the brush swinging in the faces of these few, it would not be wrong to suppose that to be the reason the FBI led these few so far astray.

After all, we need protection, by hook or by crook. Protection from the 99%.

DaNewAgeViking -> RE: Just some fun loving Occupy bridge bombers (5/3/2012 1:28:22 AM)

As a matter of fact, I read the extensive article on that, and nothing was said about Occupy. The FBI said they were a batch of Anarchists, which despite the slur-mongering revisionism of some Radicals on this topic, is something else entirely than Occupy. At least have the moral integrity to tell the truth, or STFU.

The FBI strikes again!

Man, the FBI is SO GOOD at creating these 'terrorists'. They implant an agent-provocateur. The Agent suggests stupid shit to the more retarded people around them. The Agent pushes the agenda. And eventually the Agent creates a conspiracy where none existed.

Your tax dollars at work.

Oh, and BY DEFINITION, Anarchists aren't part of any movement.

That's as crazy as "Libertarians" running for political office.

Oh I don't know, TH. When the screwballs at Waco went whacko, other Christians dissociated themselves from those 'Davidians', and most of us were happy to accept that. Me, I didn't then go around calling all Christians - or even all Davidians - "scum", as does, for instance, MSLA. The Occupy movements have, for the most part, been non-violent - unlike, frequently, various governments' forces that have attempted to stop them (the violent ones of which have no connection with the non-violent ones, natch).

So, OCCUPY Wall Street Cleveland is against occupations? Attempting to shut down Wall Street isn't a form of economic violence?

Here's the entirety of the story: 5 jackoffs who have been to rallies and support OWS, participated in a scheme to blow up a bridge the 5 of them devised. Here's what we have:

    5 guys
      have attended OWS rallies
      support OWS

schemed to blow up a bridge
    on May Day

That is all we know. OWS Cleveland will claim to not be involved, regardless of their involvement. There is no proof that OWS or OWS Cleveland had any hand in the scheme.

Pinning this on OWS is as bad as pinning racism on the Tea Party simply because some of its members are ignorant enough to exhibit their racism. Unless there is proof that this was an OWS activity, this can not be blamed on the movement. That OWS has ignorance among their members should not be surprising. You can find ignorance, even aggressive ignorance, in pretty much any large group of people.

Always "nice" to see the guilt by association meme is still alive and well on the right. Remember who reaps the whirlwind?

Perhaps just a little exaggerating above… a good portion of those…”millions” with sympathy for the movement have seen the futility of a directionless mob and have moved on. Those left are the fanatics and nut cases that will only taint the original movements message further in the coming months.

What? Are you saying you think A Veteran and REGISTERED REPUBLICAN was scum like these guys???? Yeah sure, he took fathers and mothers away from their children FOREVER,and even KILLED AN ENTIRE DAY CARE CENTER FULL OF SMALL CHILDREN AND BABIES, but where's your compassion? The man was a VETERAN! He didn't need no FBI to teach him how the make boom boom.

These Occupy guys are truly a threat to our society. They sleep outside in symbolic homelessness and indiscriminately feed people who can't feed themselves. Those bastards even set up a library so people living on the street can indulge in the reading of BOOKS.
Although Timothy DOES SHARE something in common with many of the right leaning posters here AS WELL AS THE WANNA BE BOMBERS... He espoused the kind of Libertarian sentiments that made him a Ron Paul supporter then (Ron would have been 'his man' right up to 1996... and probably would have today... IF IT WEREN'T FOR THE FACT THIS MURDERING REGISTERED REPUBLICAN MOTHER FUCKER DIDN'T GET THE GAS CHAMBER... <sigh> But I digress ) ...

Political views and religious beliefs

McVeigh was a registered Republican when he lived in Buffalo, New York in the 1980s, and had a membership in the National Rifle Association while in the military,[82] but voted for Libertarian Party candidate, Harry Browne, in the 1996 presidential elections.[83] McVeigh was raised Roman Catholic.[84] During his childhood, he and his father attended Mass regularly.[85] McVeigh was confirmed at the Good Shepherd Church in Pendleton, New York, in 1985.[86] In a 1996 interview, McVeigh professed belief in "a God", although he said he had "sort of lost touch with" Catholicism and "I never really picked it up, however I do maintain core beliefs."[84] In the 2001 book American Terrorist, McVeigh stated that he did not believe in Hell and that science is his religion.[87][88]

In June, 2001, a day before the execution, McVeigh wrote a letter to the Buffalo News identifying as agnostic.[89] Before his execution, McVeigh took the Catholic sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick.[90]
