I usually only read if the person either A.) asks for a profile review and I'm bored enough to do it; B) says something that stands out in some way and I want to know more about the person; or C.) the other poster calls attention to something in his/her/zir profile that I need to read for context. Those occasions are few and far between. I give the words people write more value than anything else. I'm of the opinion that if someone has to bring another poster's age, looks, country of origin, or D/s (M/s) orientation into a discussion in order to prove/shore up a point, that point is already on pretty shaky ground and the person making it is probably a tool.

I look at profiles for one of three reasons:

A) They're female and I'm perving.

B) They said something that I thought to be really profound, insightful and intelligent and wanted to know a little more about them (like, what life experiences have granted you such keen powers of observation?).

C) They said something that made me think they must be dumber than a lobotomized gerbil with its head stuck up its ass and I wanted to know a little more about them (like, were they born of woman or are they the spawn of an unholy union of the aforementioned gerbil and a retarded donkey?).

Oddly, I do not look up poster's profiles for pervy reasons. I look up the profiles because I actually want to know more about them as people. Sort of lame, I guess, but it's a fact.


This, or if they make some outrageous comment (i.e. like why don't older subs respond to me) but otherwise, I'm usually a bit too lazy to perv profiles

"No" on the comma, and "no" on reading profiles.  I rarely read them, since I am more interested in reading the thoughts expressed by the person in the forum.
Unless they say something bizarre enough for me to wonder "Who IS this guy?"

Syl just saved Me a bunch of keystrokes.  I will check things like location for instances such as people asking about munches/events and I'm trying to determine which group they might be closer to by city.  A vast majority of the time, I notice a lot of the folks who run off to check somebody's profile and drag unflattering information onto the thread just isn't called for. 

I still vote yes on the comma, if for no other reason, it would have designated a pause.

I usually do not read the profiles of posters. I often read their posts thinking they are a Domme and find out they are a sub.
