I see where you are coming from Kirata, and I can agree with what you are saying. You don't have to agree with someone, or even like them, in order to feel some sort of common connection, though.
Hypocrisy? Yeah, that's a big negative. The problem there, is that at some point, a druggie past will turn a lot of people, probably most, into hypocrites themselves. Giving "the talk" to a young person will do it to any responsible, reasoning, grownup with a history. If that theory about every choice creating an alternate universe where it went the other way is correct, then there are a lot of universes where I'm dead, or in prison, instead of got damn lucky. I can speak nothing but good selective truth, and give advice I know to be sound, and feel like a massive hypocrite afterwards. I can live with it, because their needs are more important, but it still stings.
