You should know Rodriguez was in the wrong or Nosathro wouldn't have brought it up.

I beleve the topic of this discussion is "Stand Your Ground II" I brought the news article for that purpose.  Rodriguesz has not been convicted yet and is using the SYG law.

Your purpose is evident enough. However, these types of laws take different forms with different restrictions.

Martin's death and will be decided under a different kind of self-defense doctrine. But it offers another example of how laws governing deadly force are tested in the nation's courtrooms and the many complex legal issues that swirl around each case.

So unless you're just another crazed anti-gun nut and don't give a damn, as seems apparent, perhaps you should clarify the particular 'stand your ground' provisions to which you are raising an objection, and what you would recommend as an alternative.

And conveniently omitted by our oh-so-sincere defender of righteousness and justice.

You give me a hard time when I quote an entire article and you give me a hard time when I snip. What's your problem with me recently?

Nothing with you personally. My problem was (let's assume it's past tense) that while affecting a concern for rights and justice, you weren't showing any for the rights of the sources you were copying; and while excerpting is fair, snipping out parts to give a false impression isn't. Not that you're the only person who ever did that, and maybe it wasn't even intentional, but sometimes the shit starts to get too thick.

It's all Nosanthro's fault.

And you complain about me....its' N-o-s-a-t-h-r-o

Where do I indicate any objection?  I agree with others sharing their views, as indicated by this article there is a debt about this law.  As I said I brought this article for discussion. And thank you for your commements.  For your edification I own a Flintlock pistol, Match Lock Musket, a Blunderbuss, (all fully functional, meaning the will shot ammo, but the Blunderbuss is a bit hard to find ammo for it, glass and rocks is what I use.), and a 1858 Army Remington.  I also have a crossbow, English Long Bow, several swords and daggers, including a Claymore, Baskethilt, two hand sword, Gauche, Dirk, Sgian Dubh, and Seax.

A better question would be where have you indicated anything BUT objections. In this thread, they started with your first comment on page 1:

I said this before and I will say it again..."Welcome to Dodge City" this is only the begining.

Assuming nobody is hacking your account, of course, and that your therapist has ruled out MPD.

Those factors come into play if the state tries to prove it wasn't justified.

One of the several horrendous problems with this law is that under section 3, seems like they don't have to prove it wasn't justified. They have to prove that the killer didn't "believe" it was justified at the time i.e. in the OP it doesn't matter that the pipe attack was imaginary it has to be proven beyond a reasonable doubt that the killer imagined said attack later on and not at the time.

So some of these guys have figured a way around it. It still doesn't make it right that a law abiding citizen should be denied the means of self defense all the while gang bangers are going to be packin regardless of the law.

Who's talking about denying law abiding citizens means of self defense? No really, I apparently missed that part of this thread, where is it?

Your are by advocating abolishing SYG.

Ah I see, so sorry, boy there's egg on my face. Here I was thinking we were trying to have an intellectually honest discussion, my bad. I didn't mean to interrupt you two in your make up the other guys position game, here I'll go:

I disturbs me that you want to be able to legally serial kill random innocent people.

I don't see the guy in the adkins killig, there are too many factors beyond the lack of a weapon. That is even if a weapon had existed it would have been very easy to just drive off.

So now your claiming syg allows people to be serial killers? Show one case were that is even remotly indicated. You deny wanting to eliminate syg and self defence but you hide behind insults when asked how to protect the rifgt of sef defense and fix your imagined problems.

Now that's what I call "intellectual honesty" in action.

Yes exactly, that's another one of my big issues with stand your ground as written. He had absolutely zero obligation to leave the situation, someone else's Taco Bell parking lot was his castle.

That's a good one, my turn.

If you don't get to pour a vat of boiling oil on the Avon Lady how come it's called Castle Doctrine????

Again I seriously doubt Syg is going to help him and still you offer only complaints not solutions

Oh wow that strawman's even better. My turn.

If this is about self defense like you claim why do you want gang bangers spray neighborhoods with AK47's?

Has anyone quoted the actual language of the particular law under discussion, or is this about your fantasies?

Just curious, yanno.
