Are you going to make a point, or just keep on posting more crap about how people who disagree with you don't value human life?

The latest data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show that 3,184 children and teens died from gunfire in the United States in 2006 - a 6 percent increase from 2005.

This means one young life lost every two hours and 45 minutes, almost nine every day, 61 every week. The number of children and teens in America killed by guns in 2006 would fill more than 127 public school classrooms of 25 students each. More preschoolers (63) were killed by firearms than law enforcement officers (48) killed in the line of duty. Since 1979, gun violence has ended the lives of 107,603 children and teens in violence.

Kirata and BamaD beat me to it but I have stated this before on other threads. The overwhelming majority of these so called children cited by the anti gun CDC who are killed with guns include young men up to and including 19 years of age are gang bangers. So how do you so called experts analyze those statistics ?

No it does not diminish the value of life but once again you deliberately miss the the point. I don't care what the age of adulthood is, as far as I'm concerned the ages of 17, 18 or 19 are not children. As far as 16 on down to 12 or 11, it really doesn't matter what the gun laws are, gang bangers are going to get their hands on them and kill each other despite the law.

Why should gang activity have to effect my right as a law abiding citizen to bare arms or defend myself or my loved ones ?

There's too much downside risk with stand your ground laws and not nearly enough public benefit. Why encourage the use of guns as a way to solve violent conflicts or to "protect" yourself from perceived threats.

I don't think the people supporting stand your ground consider that a downside. They seem to view killing people for assault in a positive light.

A number of us including I suspect cloudboy believe that the "law that says the thugs own the streets" to already have been passed. It's commonly referred to as stand your ground.

I think I have now seen the true light.

If I'm ever assaulted I'll just take a beating, give up my wallet, get shot or whatever and hope I live through it.

How do ya like that BamaD ? Now us law abiding citizens who would assert our rights to defend ourselves from bodily harm rather than get down on our knees and beg for our lives are thugs and the criminals are holier then Jesus H Christ.

As we are on the Stand by your ground laws, let look at incident in Arizona. I done some research and found some interesting facts. First off, under Arizona traffic laws, Adkins was walking his dog, a
Labrador (these dogs are more dangerous the pit bills) as reported Jude was attempting to leave the parking lot of a Taco Bell. As per Arizona traffic law 28-793. Crossing at other than crosswalk, a pedestrian has the right of way and Jude is required to yield to Adkins. ( I am sure the NRA would argue that all this is not a crime so it does not matter.) Jude slammed the brakes fast in order to avoid hitting Adkins, I don’t know about anyone else but the speed limit at my local Taco Bell is 5 mph. There is also a sign at the exits that says “Watch out for pedestrians, there is also the walking stick figure. Jude yelled “Watch it” and also made some obscenities at Adkins, ( I am sure the NRA people if they encountered the same thing would just smile, wave and say “Have a nice day”). Jude then states that Adkins from out of no where responded by taking a bat or was it pipe and started swing, no damage or injuries report and the Police could not find anything like a pipe or bat. (Of course NRA would now say that this proves Adkins was trying to kill Jude and he had to defend himself.) Jude exits his car, pulls out his hand gun, Adkins swings his arm like he was trying to hit Jude. (More proof that Adkins was a dangerous criminal, I am sure the NRA people in this situation would just smile and say “Hey nice piece!”) Jude then shot Adkins in the in the torso, who died a short time later. Jude still could not leave because the dog laid at Adkins side. Jude told police he did not think Adkins was going to kill him, but he was afraid Adkins would harm him, his wife and the unborn baby.
So another example of proof that the “stand your ground” law save a the people of Arizona from another crazed gang banger who roamed the streets praying on poor inocent people.
“The presumption that a person acted reasonably is appropriate“, says Charles Heller, co-founder of Arizona Citizens Defense League, which advocates for gun rights

And some folks think thugs should be able to assault, rob, and rape without any risk of getting their asses shot.

Go figure, eh?

Where does this Charles Heller quote come from ? I think most, even us gun lubbers here, would question the notion that deadly force was warranted in this particular case.

As far as what you're so sure of that the NRA and their people would think, I think you're whacked out of your mind

Yeah and they can start a collection to round up all the guns. That'll fix those NRA guys.

Charlie Heller as stated is the co-found of the Arizona Citizens Defense League, supported the NRA in passing the "stand your ground law" in Arizona.  This is his quote when the press asked him to comment on the Adkins case.
