Never heard of the 'Million Moms' before. There are advantages to limiting things to some extent on the 'news' front. In any case I can (personally) think of more than 100 hundred moms who would want nothing to do with 'Million Moms,' if this is any indication. Having met only one or two moms who would consider such an association, I think this tells me what I need to know. Is JC Penney being perhaps too 'forward,' almost 'promoting' gay marriage? I think that it might be worthy of discussion, but US politics and US whore media that we have, groups like the Tea Party or Million Moms are dragged in to tsunami anything resembling rational discussion out of the way. Kind of reminds me of the Bill Mahler piece presenting a completely distorted, out-of-context, thoroughly bigoted representation (and very specifically chosen) of Mississippians, while thinking himself quite clever, not to mention 'fair and balanced,' for presenting a completely distorted, out-of-context, thoroughly bigoted representation (again, very specifically chosen) of black NYC dwellers waiting in line at the unemployment office. Hmmm, what to say on this ... One of my ex-girlfriends was a fashion designer for a large department store, and she didn't like Penneys. But that was then, this is now, and fashions change. I go back and forth on the gay marriage thing. One of my first cousins, once removed (the equivalent of an uncle, in this case) has lived with his life partner for decades, even since the '60's, even in some small town in PA and lastly in Macon Ga., alternately attending either one's churches. ("We both like to sing, we go to his church one week, my church the next week"). I'm definitely not saying that such a marriage should be outlawed, just that I don't understand the necessity in every case. De facto marriage has been there for some time, but if de jure marriage seems to be the way to go, and unfortunately, what's needed to prevent legal problems elsewhere, then it's all OK here. But my 'uncle' and his life-mate figured it out decades before whatever legal system woke up to the fact. Just sayin'. As for Ellen The Degenerate ... Her show is the only one I can watch more than five minutes. I didn't have cable at the time (don't even have a TV now), so Colbert Report might have snuck in there too. (or should that be ... "The Colbert Rapport"?) Ellen does not need to promote anything other than just her own wonderful self. Just sayin'.
