FemalecumLover -> Kink With Respect (6/20/2012 1:39:17 AM)

My kink is better than your kink?
Never! It is just our way of doing things.

What we all need to remember is my kink and your kink is, in the end,OUR kink,
and we really need to learn to stand together
and respect one another for our individuality as well as our collective identity.

If we in this lifestyle cannot learn from each other and stand side-by-side
in the defense of our rights to practice what we so dearly love

how can we expect others to look at us any differently
when we cannot even do that with each other?

Remember United we stand, Divided we fall.

miria hunter

for all CM members ... I respect you all

LadyPact -> RE: Kink With Respect (6/20/2012 2:11:38 AM)

Thanks, but I only want your respect if I've earned it.  Just doing My own personal crap and deciding to wave the kink banner over it doesn't qualify.  Attempting to use that excuse is weak at best and doesn't make Me live up to My own potential.  I appreciate your kindness, but don't give such allowances in My case.  I would much prefer to be judged on My own humanity when it comes to respect, rather than have some kind of free pass just because I'm kinky.  It will mean so much more to Me that way.

FemalecumLover -> RE: Kink With Respect (6/20/2012 2:43:35 AM)

I totally relate to that opinion I am declaring here

hence I am respecting yours ...

Focus50 -> RE: Kink With Respect (6/20/2012 4:38:20 AM)

I find cheese hard to respect....

<shrugs>

Focus.

DarkSteven -> RE: Kink With Respect (6/20/2012 5:11:18 AM)

Disagree.

There are kinks I'm not into that are illegal - bestiality, underage, etc. Mention any of them and you'll set off a storm, and rightly so.
There are kinks I'm not into that are in gray areas, such as incest. Not heavily illegal, but not kosher by my standards. Even incest play will raise hackles.
There are other things that are sorta okay, but I want no part of them and it would be rude to bring them up. Scat and vomit, for example.
There are other things that are hard limits for me but other people practice them. Needles, blood, breath play. Do it if you want but I'm outta there.
Note that there are some kinds of play - whips, breath play, and needles come to mind - that will get reported if some idiot does them without full training and appreciation of what he or she is doing.

So all kinks are NOT necessarily okay.

As stated in posts above, respect is, depending on my mood, either given until reason is given otherwise, or else not given until earned.

RemoteUser -> RE: Kink With Respect (6/20/2012 5:13:27 AM)

Uniting for individualism. Oh, that's right, Russia votes now.

Democracy is an excellent theory that undermines itself in practice.

(Oddly enough, things I would support - if all politics were open - conflict at some level with a few of my kinks. But this dick isn't on a tater ship, so I guess one spud is as good as another.)

kitkat105 -> RE: Kink With Respect (6/20/2012 5:36:57 AM)

I am in total agreeance with DarkSteven. Just because someone identifies as "kinky" doesn't earn them anything. After all, they are a person first.

OsideGirl -> RE: Kink With Respect (6/20/2012 8:00:27 AM)

I agree with Steven and LP.

1) Respect is earned.

2) Just because someone has labeled themselves as kinky doesn't mean we're on the same playing field.

DesFIP -> RE: Kink With Respect (6/20/2012 8:15:02 AM)

As Steven said, just because it's kinky doesn't make it right. There are wrong and stupid things here as well as elsewhere. Telling everyone to close their eyes to the bad stuff diminishes us all. How can we expect to be respected if we do, or countenance, things that do not merit respect?

littlewonder -> RE: Kink With Respect (6/20/2012 8:18:44 AM)

Sorry but I'm human. I judge.

Not all kinks are ok in my book.

I don't really care if others accept my kink except my Dom. Anyone else just doesn't matter to me.

littlewonder -> RE: Kink With Respect (6/20/2012 8:25:42 AM)

what's off topic about it? You were talking about respect for kink. I don't respect all kink.

Thats why I put this link
so people would keep it relevant

we have gone so far off topic in here !

littlewonder -> RE: Kink With Respect (6/20/2012 8:31:56 AM)

Yeah, read it. Disagree with it.

If I find there's something that is illegal...such as pedophilia or murder and other such things, I'm gonna report you and I'm certainly not going to respect you.

You wanna do something that you know others will disagree with? Then don't announce it to the world or go around telling people about it or showing it off. Simple.

JstAnotherSub -> RE: Kink With Respect (6/20/2012 8:32:40 AM)

Using the logic in that article, someone not agreeing with you or not staying on what you consider topic should not bother you, because they are just words.

If you are confident about what you do and enjoy, why would it bother you that someone else didn't approve of it? Unless they are paying your bills and can make your life miserable, chalk it up to different strokes for different folks.

Respect, for me, is given because of a persons actions, not because they have a kink or not. Here, the only actions we have to judge by are the words that are typed.

It is what it is.

FemalecumLover -> RE: Kink With Respect (6/20/2012 8:35:28 AM)

Respect for the aspects of BDSM

for those who did not even care to read the context
I will put in here
quote:

There are 3 parts to BDSM and for those of you who do not know what they are I will explain. First is the “B/d” aspect, literally meaning Bondage and discipline. They may or may not go together, depending on whom you talk to. However, I think all can agree they constitute the first part. The Second part is “D/s”, which many just do not seem to see. This aspect means Domination and submission. It also encompasses the Master/slave relationship as well. It may, or may not, include other aspects of BDSM. However, if you are into this part, you are into part of what BDSM stands for. Finally, and importantly, is the S/m part, standing for Sadomasochism. This behavior encompasses a wide range of the lifestyle, but does not necessarily include the first 2 parts.

for those who cant help but attacking for no obvious reason relevant to the post
go on ... have fun ... enjoy [sm=line.gif]

littlewonder -> RE: Kink With Respect (6/20/2012 8:54:20 AM)

What does that have to do with respect? Ok, we all know what bdsm stands for....so? Still doesn't mean I think what someone does constitutes as bdsm or should be respected.

LadyPact -> RE: Kink With Respect (6/20/2012 9:33:39 AM)

Yo, dude, I don't want the respect if I'm only getting it because I'm calling My activities BDSM.  It's not some kind of universal "get out of jail free" card.

When you stop thinking of it that way, just because you like pussy, it will go better.

I'm done here.

RemoteUser -> RE: Kink With Respect (6/20/2012 9:46:21 AM)

Solidarity through definition. *checks* Yup. On topic.

If you don't recognize "respect" as a form of solidarity, OP, I suggest you examine the definition of the word more closely.

And while commonality may be inherited through social grouping, it is defined by the individual. You have a lot of strongly opinionated individuals here, so the only natural expectation for this was to get disagreement. In that, you have succeeded.
