I think we get a few disputants on here who are used to ending arguments by shouting that they never said any such thing and if somebody persists in claiming that they did, then they'll get hit.
It can sometimes take a while for the penny to drop that this doesn't work on the internet as you leave a trail of your comments where they can be seen (unless they're modded). I suppose if it conflicts with the practices learned over a lifetime of shouting people down and changing your story at will, it can be hard to break that habit.
