Nosathro, you can find the details of the situation on this thread, where I've been doing my venting. http://www.collarchat.com/m_4145943/tm.htm There certainly is a federal offense involved, with the use of stolen mail, but what you won't find me doing over there, is using this as an excuse to launch off on a cop-bash. I'm confident that, at some point, she will be getting a knock on the door by law enforcement with an arrest warrant in one hand, and a search warrant in the other. I'm confident of this because she provided them with a slam-dunk case and easy conviction, even if all she's likely to get in this jurisdiction is a slap on the wrist, and some time cleaning cat boxes at the county animal shelter. For that to happen, all the pieces need to come together on the desk of a detective who isn't sitting at a speed-trap, but in the hallway outside a courtroom all day. Now maybe there are ways we could reform the operations of our criminal justice system to get more bang for our collective buck, but there would still be speed-traps, and people who are bitter as hell because they thought they were in a place where they could casually ignore the law, and wound paying a fine for their error.
