I'm tellin' ya. When they finally DO isolate that elusive "God Particle" it's gonna look like a tiny roll of duct tape.

So, the duct tape thing, you think its not strings, but that the universe if fundamentally sticky?

It means that there is an actor that gives things mass at the atomic level, an intermediary vibrator that makes a field.

I guess I understand the basic "premise" here, but I believe in GOD/GODDESS 1 billion zillion percent, so looking for proof is just funny.
I will get my "proof" on the other side.

Cute article though!

There is nothing in the article that suggests that there couldnt be a god or goddess or ssssss several levels up the chain.   They have not seen evidence of this intermediary, but based on how things around it work, have posited that it had to exist.

I dunno, Hill. The universe is pretty big. It might look like a spool of baling wire.

It won't look like duct tape. That shit won't hold anything together - least of all ducts!

What a waste of time...they are striving to understand the unknowable...How silly looking for a particle that gives all others mass...Even if they found it we will never really understand it.

I guess this research may help us mechanically as we manipulate our surroundings for our comfort and aggression. But it will never reveal the answer to the ultimate secret of the universe…Something from Nothing. To understand that concept we will require belief in magic and God…all outside the reach of the purely analytical minds of science.

NO, they already understand how it works, the question is, does it exist.

How can you be certain it is unknowable? Can you truly be certain that it cannot be understood?

What was the old saw about a sufficiently high level of technology being indistinguishable from magic?

I am absolutely positive that we will never understand something from nothing... there can be no valid answer to this in science by its very nature.

If you don't believe me then lets bet...lol anything you choose.

This is prima facie incorrect.   there is not a case of something from nothing, these are all from something.

This is not a valid statement since no theory of physics or cosmology posits something from nothing.

Still hanging onto "String Theory" huh?
