And Ash, no, of course not. They're not all equally pleasing, but size doesn't correlate to beauty in that area, IMO.

LaTigresse -> RE: To Women: What is an ugly man? (7/7/2012 6:02:21 PM)

As others have said...

Stupid pig ignorance.
Bad hygiene including poor foot care, BO, gross teeth
Heavy perfume crap
Racism
No sense of humour
Arrogance
Weird interest in childish games...example, most RPG online and off
Placing extended family or friends as priority over S.O. consistantly
Drug and alcohol abuse
Obession with sports
Laziness
Spending more time getting ready for a dress event than I do
Lack of personal honour and responsibility for self and actions
Lying, goes with above but worth emphasizing
Poor comunication skills
Lacking in self confidence
Cruelty
Intolerance with those less fortunate
Impatience
Lack of ability to take as good as they give
Negativity

A posed smile, nope but I bet your natural , pleasure smile is perfect, because most people are beautiful when they smile with real pleasure and humour.

I'm sorry, Lucy - perhaps I wasn't clear in my OP with my polite and gently-worded request that women attempt to avoid feeding us males any more of the standard female horseshit in this thread?

Most people are *not* beautiful when they smile, whether or not they are smiling with real pleasure and humour. That's crap. You have failed the 'bollocks test' *very* disappointingly. Please try again.

Sorry - I agree with Lucy and it's the truth. A fake smile? You're right. Not attractive on anybody*. I find almost anybody's genuine smile to be warmly attractive.

*Actually, not true. Some people can fake it, I suppose.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: To Women: What is an ugly man? (7/7/2012 6:16:24 PM)

Away with you, then! You and your quasi-false self-deprecation!

LaTigresse -> RE: To Women: What is an ugly man? (7/7/2012 6:17:11 PM)

Only a few men hate me. It's part of my charm.

I never promised to be lovable.

And thank you Ash, you reminded me of another one.

Smoking. Ick, ewww, grossss!

That is fine, I cannot read your Arabic facebook posts!

And LaT already has a nice husband, so it's okay if other men hate her.

Lucylastic -> RE: To Women: What is an ugly man? (7/7/2012 6:33:11 PM)

My hubby and I discussed it the other night when we watched some "Candid Camera" type programs from the UK and Quebec. Some of the people were unattractive, not ugly but certainly not types we would consider "worth a third look" regular every day joes and josephines, even some yes ugly ... but when they were genuinely laughing, caught by surprise or smiling with relief, everyone looked great.
Maybe I watched way to many to be taken seriously but you can usually tell a fake.

I've dated some absolutely gorgeous men that became unattractive due to intelligence, demeanor or attitude.

I've dated some guys that most women wouldn't have looked twice at because their intelligence, kindness, integrity made them attractive.

This.

My ex boyfriend has the face of Ian Somerhalder and body to match. Yet he is ugly as hell inside.

I told him when I broke up with him that one day he will get the face he deserves.

Some of the most attractive men to me were not picture perfect, yet they were to me.

As for what physically makes someone ugly, I think that is purely subjective.

Winterapple -> RE: To Women: What is an ugly man? (7/7/2012 6:35:11 PM)

Bad hygiene and sloppy dressing are the kinds
of physical ugliness that can be prevented.
A grown man should have a tie in his wardrobe
and shirts other than Star Wars t-shirts.
And get rid of the dad jeans. Especially
the acid washed dad jeans.

I'm not into the hirsute. I think pelts
are one of my biggest squicks.

I've shown a consistent attraction to
scrawny men with whatever the male
version of jolie laide faces is.

One of my early loves was heroin
chic minus the heroin. The women
iny family made it their goal to fatten
him up and nicknamed him Hansel.

I like artsy, geeky hipster dudes.
I like guys that wear glasses, I like
to think about steaming them up.

I don't like big muscley guys. In terms
of an athletic build I like tennis players
and track and field bodies.

A guy who is fit from being active
and is sun kissed from being outdoors
a lot is appealing. Someone who cares
about his appearance but isn't so
metrosexual he'll want to use my
beauty products and spend more
time looking at himself than I do.

Indeed........and he is even nice enough to take several fishing trips, motorcycle trips, go golfing (though not often enough) and go out with friends a couple times a month. Gives me the peace, quiet and alone time I need.

I say that because he left to go fishing in Lake Erie this morning and will be gone until Friday. I only wish I had taken a few days off this week.

Generic Dude has been around for twenty years! And look at me, all sweet and kind! Where has that gotten me?

At least, no one ugly!

I have one of those also. From my previous, previous, life. He may, or may not, be dead.

IrishMist -> RE: To Women: What is an ugly man? (7/7/2012 6:51:55 PM)

There are so many things that make a man unattractive to ME. And yes, most of them are surface issues, but when added up, they equal 'ugly' to me.

Height...Sorry, but a man who is shorter or the same height as I am is just not very attractive to me. I want to look UP into his face, not across or down.
Strong...strength wise, as in someone who works out, lifts weights, etc etc. I want to be able to spar with him; and it's just no fun if you can toss your partner in five seconds.
So called 'romantic' men. BLAH. I find 'romantic men' to be boring as all fuck. No thanks.
Weight. I find nothing attractive about an overweight man.
Just to name a few...add all the little things up, and it equals ugly to me.

And yes...I am a very superficial person when it comes to what I find attractive in a person.

LadyPact -> RE: To Women: What is an ugly man? (7/7/2012 6:56:20 PM)

Generic Dude is actually kind of cool and awesome.

Most men don't have that kind of dedication.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: To Women: What is an ugly man? (7/7/2012 7:07:38 PM)

For real, GD has the goods!

LaTigresse -> RE: To Women: What is an ugly man? (7/7/2012 7:19:26 PM)

Thank god he's off fishing for Walleye!! His head would get too big to fit through the door!

He is pretty damned cool.....most of the time. God we've been through some crazy ass shit together. My kids were probably the hardest for him, truth be told. More than once I think we had a few rip roaring screaming matches that entertained the neighbours when we still lived in town. One night I remember him standing at the end of the driveway yelling (and he is LOUD) that he'd had enough and was leaving. He just couldn't take it anymore! It was OVER! I don't remember if he actually did leave or if he just paced up and down the street for awhile. I think that had everything to do with my son stealing a Mercedes....or one of the B&Es.

I am also pretty sure the neighbours heard the bellowing over my first girlfriend. I wasn't very honourable with all of that, to be honest.

He's no saint, he won't let me use him for a photography model and god dammit, he's a pretty good looking guy!

marie2 -> RE: To Women: What is an ugly man? (7/7/2012 7:26:46 PM)

Turn offs for me are guys who try to be slick, and guys whose communication and articulation skills match those of a neanderthal type. I can't stand boring guys who have to be led, men who aren't aggressive and wait for the "submissive" to take the initiative for each step, men who don't posess the slightest bit of conversational skills. Guys who are obsessed with sporting events and those who would rather spend their time "gaming" with those stupid RPGs than interacting with an interested female. And mushy gushy romantic types...slobbering poetry and stuff like that.

On the physical aspects; I don't have a particular body type....I don't mind a chubby dude, a short guy, a skinny lanky guy, an older man, someone who is gray etc, as long as there is sexual attraction and chemistry, which comes through regardless of body type. The only main turn offs physically are excessive amounts of weight (like you have to hold his gut out of the way to suck his cock), excessively muscle bound guys, poor bodily hygiene, poor dental hygiene (guys who don't floss, puffy red gums etc), toupees (bald is fine, thinning hair is fine, receding hairline is fine...fake hair is not), and I have to say that full mouth dentures are a deal breaker for me. I don't mind a partial or a false tooth here or there, but a full set of choppers? Not for me. And feet....they don't have to be beautiful...but they have to be groomed...clean and trimmed toe nails.

I don't care if they're blue collar, white collar, something in between, drive a chevy, or a BMW, have a little apartment or a big house. Just be employed, motivated, and productive. Laziness is ugly, having no drive is ugly, excuses are ugly, not giving a shit about yourself is ugly.
