quote:
The one thing that I am currently afraid of is quitting smoking. I am going to begin this on my birthday and it'll be after thirty years of actively smoking... Yeah, I am scared shitless. I think I hold the title of the world’s greatest cigarette smoking quitter based on the number of times I quit. None of them lasting more than a few weeks, damn I was good at quitting. Then came the day I had the great fortune to see a 29-year-old cadaver, a two pack a day cigarette smokers lungs, arteries and kidneys. That day, that moment in time I walked to the trash can and deposited my cigarettes and lighter in it, never again to pick up a cigarette but I soon found there was more to it the just the stopping of smoking. Other life style changes had to occur; I was a nervous wreck, irritable and angry most of the time. Smoking hash had to stop, snorting lines came to an abrupt end and marijuana became a thing of the past. Exercise and workouts increased dramatically but I still put on weight, my eating habits were modified so I was hungry all the time for about ninety days and I really wanted a drink. I had quit drinking eight years earlier, oh I still drank wine with my meals, and did a shot of Jack with my brother on New Years and my dad and brother on the Marine Corps Birthday but other than that no booze at all. Good luck with the challenge you are about to face, it will be hard but you can win that fight. If you ever just need someone who has been there to talk to, please, feel free to contact.
