The Liberal Plan is the Nanny State.

If the choice is between a "Nanny State" or a "Trans-Vaginal Probe", I know what side I'm on. And I'm not sure "YOU HAVE TO BE PERSONALLY RESPONSIBLE AND BUY HEALTH INSURANCE SO YOU'RE NOT BURDENING OTHER TAXPAYERS" counts as "Nanny State".

And exactly what is the Republican plan?

You hate the liberal plan so much....

Offer up the alternative.

Why? Pointing out the destructiveness of the liberal plan holds no requirement to anything else. Pointing out that the plan of holding a lit stick of dynamite is self-destructive holds no requirement to offering an alternative.

Besides, any plan offered that does not comport to liberal desires shall be summarily dismissed. The Borg collective of Star Trek fame is a perfect example of liberal mentality. "You shall be assimilated. Resistance is futile."

Anything you've got to substantiate that?

Sadly, you are mistaken. Assuming you know what will be accepted and what will not, then refusing to offer up a solution of your own is what has become of the GOP party.

Many of us were waiting, hoping, for something workable to get this country back on its feet. And all we have gotten from both sides are excuses.. and from the GOP "NO".

And here you are backing up the myth that no one will listen to the other side.

Or is there one?

Could he offer up a plan that he likes, but liberals would like to? A full plan, not 'half-baked'. A plan that covers the internal and external problems. A plan that takes short term and long term financial, economic, and legal problems into study, with solid and well backed research into account. A plan that asked the question "What happens if things dont work as plan" and gives prudent and wise answers. A plan to which Americans of every skin, eye, hair, and oh yes, blood color can agree to (cus Republicans have green blood apparently.....). Where the majority are helped and the minority are not marginizalized or removed; but give protections. The rich do not grow richer and the poor do not become poorer. A plan that takes into account what we know so far from science, research, development, philosophy and history. And does NOT screw around with the Constitution so much, that the plan is forever costing us legal money in a billion court cases of every color, shape and flavor.

Your really think Yachtie is really capacible to achieve such a notion on his own?

....Good Luck....

You people are Utopians. You really are.

The GOP plan
(based on actions taken by the Republicans)
1) Subjugation of women. This includes paying women less for the same work and preventing women from safely controlling their reproductive options.
2) Creating a poorly educated underclass. By way of opposition to all social safety nets, reducing funding for public schools, encouraging moving children to private parochial schools (teachers of creationism and other woo) and support for the rapacious and fraudulent for profit higher education system.
3) Elevation of the mega corporations beyond the reach of the government. Citizen's United, fighting increased regulation in the face of the global financial crisis and the Gulf oil spill.

Won't happen as the goals have been so radically changed. What you seek is the path to actualize the desired paradigm. I.e., joether -

If you don't see the desire for a blueprint society there then you don't know what is being sought. The contradictions are astounding.

I of course will agree with # 1, in part, but not on pay.

Other than that it don't look like a big vote getter.  The fall slaughter will have to be postponed due to lack of interest.

And yet those who proposed/implemented all those are still voted in time and time again. Is it any wonder why staunch republicans believe its the best option?

Did I ask him.. or agree with him?

No, I asked YOU for the GOP plan.

Where is it? Where is the alternative?

Where is the Republican plan in opposition to the Democratic one?

Meanwhile I'm also wondering why Republicans today are falling over themselves to criticize the ACA. The very idea of a universal mandate was THEIR fucking idea. Talk about moving the goalposts!

There isn't one, as even if there were it would not be in opposition. Just some of the pieces moved around a bit.

You'll not find answers till you abandon what does not work.

Then why are the Pubs hot to further expand the military beyond what the Pentagon wants and further cut taxes, both moves completely unfunded, when that's what got us here?

If the other lot try to put something through into legislation, then it becomes a bad idea and must opposed.
That's all the Republicans have as a plan at the moment: oppose everything the Democrats try to do, however much they previously approved of it.

Got to abandon them too. (R) sucks as bad as (D), just not in the same way.

There are actually several different plans to a conservative approach to health care reform that have been around for years. Here are some of the main items that were brought up by conservatives in 2009

* allow health insurance to be sold across state lines to bring down the cost of insurance through competitive markets.
* tort reform to bring down the actual cost of medical care by eliminating trivial and fraudulent lawsuits against doctors and hospitals.
* reforming the rules governing medical research to get drugs on the market faster making them less expensive.
* allowing for people to have tax free medical savings accounts.

Libs don't like any of these things because they ultimately mean that people have to take responsibility for their own health care decisions. It is far more convenient for them to perpetuate the lie that conservatives have no plan than it is to debate them about the issue. That's why, when the libs had the House, the Senate, and the Oval Office, they had to run their bill through before anyone had time to read it, let alone discuss the merits and issues with the bill. Obamacare would have never survived an honest debate.

Yet in 6 years of control of Congress and the White House, not one of those things happened.

Also, not one of those things addresses the issues of uninsured, dropped when sick, no coverage for preexisting conditions, etc etc etc.

The two middle ones are attempts to remove protections, not health care reform. Of course they're opposed.
