This statement is inconsistant. On the one hand you agree that paying taxes is necessary but then you go on to say that you would find a way to avoid doing what you say is necessary.

Did you get past the 6th grade?

Do you feel others should pay and not you?
Or:
Do you feel that no one should pay?

Actually, what I feel is this growing need to puke all over your posts.

You make a self contradictory statement,
I point it out and ask for clarification.
I remain unconvinced that you have directed that question to the appropriate person.
My question stands...Do you approve of taxes for others but not for yourself or no taxes for anyone? If it is no taxes for anyone how are the services you claim need to be supported by taxes to be paid for?
If it is that you feel you should be exempt from taxes that begs the question why?

That is most likely because you lack the intelectual ability to argue your point in a meaningful and cogent manner. Should you, at some time in the future actually acquire some smattering of knowledge of the subject at hand please feel free to resume your participation in this discussion.

(I love how a thread about taxes collapses into Who's On First. Topic, what?)

taxes.

As a small business proprietor, taxes are a very hot issue to me. If the rates are too high, it can really affect my bottom line.

Also, I have a rental property. I pay property taxes, have local regulations to comply with, and then get to pay 45% of all my profits to SS, local taxes, and federal taxes. A modest $7,000.00 a year profit quickly gets whittled down to just $3,850.00.

Taxes can kill the goose that lays the golden eggs, so figuring out the right tax rates is very important.

Point well taken. One of my concerns is the lack of transparency. It is difficult to say exactly how much we are taxed. I also feel that there is a great deal of things the government is doing that technically aren't considered taxes, but are in fact taxes. Our taxes may be as high as what Europeans pay in taxes without the benefits.

erieangel -> RE: Why do we fear taxes? (7/18/2012 10:19:23 PM)

I don't fear taxes. Nor do I recent paying them. In fact, one of the best feelings in my life was when I got my first pay check and I realized I was tax-paying citizen. Years later, I had that feeling again after having been on SSI for nearly 20 years and paying no income taxes--though I did pay property taxes in the last few years I was on SSI.

Actually, I've had several economics classes. That doesn't mean I have to agree with what they teach. So take your personal slanders and shove 'em.

That has certainly shown us the depth and breadth of your economic acumen...how could anyone doubt anything you say,now that you have informed us that you do not agree with what is taught in the class you paid to attend in an effor to disabuse yourself of your ignorance.

Taxes are a neccessary evil nobody likes to pay them but everyone knows that there are certain things government has to provide like police 'protection', but taxes are often used for social engenering, to push people into doing what the "leaders" want them to do. When taxation becaome wealth reditribition even more object. When it is used to force people to buy something they don't want even more oppose. Remember you get more of what you subsidize, the great society subsidized single parent families so for the last 50 our tax money has been detroying the families of poor people.

ROFLMAO
Too fucking funny

I didn't post with the intent of thrilling anyone with my "economic acumen". That's what you're trying to do. I simply tossed my opinion into a thread that asked a question about an emotional response to an economic event. I do that kind of stuff. Get over it. Perhaps you shouldn't be such an opportunist when it comes to insulting others just to feel good about yourself.

Taxes in cash only, NO CREDIT

I was commenting on the effect not the intent.

I would be the first to agree that you have a right to your opinion...no mater how ignorant, ill founded or poorly thought out it may be.

Perhaps the grammar is something you might investigate in your spare time. I commented on your post and not your person

The word you are looking for here is libel not slander, and it is libel only if it is untrue. Thus far you have failed to offer any validation for your moronic post thus no libel.

Madison I believe.

In any case, if one is to be a fiscal conservative, one pays for defense build-ups, wars and drug benefits...not borrow the costs. Wars in particular are to be first, a profit, then virtually painless and of no bother for society at large...excepting of course, those who are...actually fighting it.

With the exception of a few short 3 years, a fact that eludes ALL of Washington and for all but those of some 32 years now.

First time I hear the words supply-side or that to reduce 1040 tax rates increases 1040 receipts...I walk the fuck out and take the F.

I'd rather go to law school...something with some real facts and logic behind it.

"Supply-side" is simply a term with a definition much like the term congruent triangle is a term in geometry with a definition.

Had you ever actually taken a college class in economics(or anything else) you would know that you can drop the class and not take an f.

That's not economics class -- that's Reaganomics. The root of how we got into this mess.
