It doesn't matter if the wasp believed in the Divine, only that the Divine believed in the wasp.

Maybe you need to come down to CA, and get a prescription. Nothing difficult here. It's a question about instant karma, but if we are to help him find his answer, we need details, dammit!

22 years ago....did it.

Have the scars to prove it.

How quickly after, that you suspect an intervention, rather than simple coincidence? The metaphor I learned from John Lennon for these things is "instant" karma.

Wasps commonly sting people. Could you give us a little more about why you see significance in it? Twice in 40 years isn't bad for nasty insect encounters.

Must have been a couple of hours between me posting the poll and me being stung.

The metaphor I learned from John Lennon for these things is "instant" karma.

That is a truth. I did a reiki course once. It hurt. It still hurt when I got home. I said "I do not want this" - and instantly the hurt stopped. But simultaneously I also lost the reiki ability.

However, between my wishing for something as a child and the Divine acting upon it, causing parts of my mind to die, were about two years. So yes, the Divine often acts instantly, but it may also require some longer time for it to arrange the necessary favorable conditions for the miracle to occur.

I do not know that it has significance.
It might be setting me up for an allergic reaction and another sting at another time, causing anaphylactic shock and death. Who knows?

Well, I had a look at your poll, and I don't know what might have set anyone off. There are a couple in here (not that I know them to be a coupled couple, mind you) who are completely obsessed with me, and I find their ill will that makes it through the universe to be very invigorating.

Do not try and understand the Divine...that's impossible. Instead... only try to realize the truth.

There is no Divine.

Then you'll see it's not the Divine that you understand, only yourself.

This is the first time in nearly forty years that I have been stung by a wasp; the second time in my life. My hand for a couple of centimeters now is getting thick.

I did not ask the Divine for this. Did someone else?

Does someone hate me?

It happened after I started my poll on people suffering from Rule Obsessed Disorder earlier today. Is there a spiritual connection? Did one of the ROD people see my poll and spiritually instruct the Divine to hurt me?

Do you really think that, if it were possible for someone here who hates you to request the Divine to hurt you, it would only be one wasp sting?

snicker

still too busy biting my hand to respond any further.

If you were a Christian I'd say that...you are suffering because God gave all of us free choice, and this means we sometimes have to deal with the fallout from someone else's choice (or some bug's choice) without Divine Intervention coming to the rescue.

bo got stung on the eyelid by a wasp sometime in the past two weeks. I dragged him into the kitchen, made a paste of meat tenderizer to help break down some of the venom (protein), and then started a compress of ice triple wrapped in a wet wash rag. After having it on for ten or fifteen minutes, then off for ten or fifteen three times, the swelling went down to 1/4 of what it was.

Sorry to hear about your hand...but seriously, take steps to do something about that swelling. Also, find the wasp nest and kill it. There is a spray that shoots long distance and I would wait until nearly dark, when they are back in their nest, and saturate it. Some build homes in the ground; look for a hole that you could stick your finger into and if it is away from any structure, take a soda bottle with a long neck, fill it with gasoline and then shove this in the hole and leave it there. It will empty out and poison the entire nest, queen and all. Leave the bottle in place for a day or two.

(It is fun to remove the bottle, and light up the gas fumes rising from the nest. But not if it is near anything that could catch on fire. For nearby grass or weeds, etc, have a garden hose ready and waiting nearby if you wanna be singing, "...burn baby burn!".)

Btw, I may ask, beg, plead on my knees for God to intervene on my behalf sometimes (you should have heard my begging when I wanted to go into remission from lymphoma), but I would never presume to TELL Him to do anything.

I remember watching a fragment on television, yesterday, about a woman whose USA house had been invaded by wasps. They were little buggers and I may have been stung by a wasp of that same or a closely related species.

So, I now deem it likely that watching that fragment was the spiritual connection.

I have also noticed that when I was my hands, the water makes the stung part hurt.

Knowing how this whole conversation is going to turn out, I can only say now, at the outset that....you are clearly SATAN!!!!!!

Good insight!

It ain't that serious.

Also, find the wasp nest and kill it.

Why? The pest was merely going about its - and presumably the Divine's - business.

Then you must be (brain) dead. The conversation is spiritual, not vocal. The sounds we make are unlikely to have any meaning to the Divine.

We ice it down to cut back on the swelling, not to make it feel better.

If the hornet's nest is in your wall, you will see an area where they are getting into it by watching their flight path when they are returning to the nest for the night. Find the spot, and buy some insecticide called Spectracide, Commercial Wasp & Hornet Killer. It's spray reaches 20 ft. away, giving you plenty of running room, lol. Active ingredients are Deltamethrin and S-Bioallethrin.

We killed almost a dozen nests this past month, mostly on the rafters of bo's porch and wooden outside bannister. One or two were on a wooden shed where he keeps his tools. Some friends of ours have a nest in the wall of their house and the kids found the hole. bo will take care of it when we visit next weekend. (Our friend has to use an epi pen if stung.)

Why? Because if they are dead and gone, they cannot sting you. I feel the same way about fire ants, and those African bee strains that go after people and embed thousands of stingers into their body...maybe it's the "Divine's plan" that we find some way to give them a Darwin Award.

I am also NOT a masochist. If a bug hurts me, he will pay dearly for it.

LOL, brain dead. My pleading was not vocal. None of my past chemos worked anymore and I was on the "wait and see" (yer f*cked) list. God's answer was yes. I went into remission for no other reason.

The Divine one you are acquainted with seems to be very different from my own; mine listens and sometimes intervenes. Or maybe it's just me...I'm special.
