Come on, there's nothing wrong with badly written granny porn!

Delilya -> RE: Fifty Shades of Dross: A Domme's Perspective (7/22/2012 6:25:29 PM)

Wait a minute, I'm a granny and I don't want badly written porn either.

My Kindle doesn't use page numbers but percentages. I was up to 26% of 50 Shades of Suck a month or two ago, and finally got back to it yesterday. The next 13% was EVEN WORSE!

Tantriqu -> RE: Fifty Shades of Dross: A Domme's Perspective (7/22/2012 7:59:28 PM)

Grannies can read what they like, and hopefully know there are other realities, vocabularies and sentence structures.
The trouble is young girls are reading this crap as part of the deluge of dreadfully written pop-lit with damaged, passive and/or submissive women as the nominal heroines: Twilight, Hunger Games, Dragon Tattoo, and now this which cross the line not only from B&D to S&M but over to abuse.

Christ! We need Wonder Woman with her magic lasso and other D-type heroines to edumacate the new generation as well as the masses.

C'mon, ladies, get typing!

I don't think anybody wants badly written porn, I just think from the "hotness" factor, it's possibly something my grandmother would have considered porn, I don't quite understand why it is such a "sensation". I slogged through the first book and it was a chore, anybody who reads all 3 books qualifies as a masochist in my book. What I really don't understand is why so many women read it, I would have thought it's excellent masturbation material for people like Rush Limbaugh...

A friend of mine read it, she said "If that guy would do that to one of my daughters, what I'd do to him would make far more interesting reading" - and she is vanilla

mons -> RE: Fifty Shades of Dross: A Domme's Perspective (7/25/2012 6:31:24 AM)

Hey wait I love to read and I think it is a great read, I know it is much different
in the BDSM lifestyle, but I know romance!

Hey I had the thought to write a book with the same theme and he had grey eyes!!!
NO joke but I still think it is wonderful!

But the very rich person I think it is possible , I like the ideal they are close in age not someone
much older!

But tell me what does everyone think about the abuse he suffered?

That is possible too, abuse made me the dominant I am today! I am not ashamed by it I did nothing wrong!

So does that part of the book makes it not real to everyone? Or what else, I thought the contract was very well researched !

mons -> RE: Fifty Shades of Dross: A Domme's Perspective (7/25/2012 6:43:03 AM)

I just read the post that was written here! I think it should not had
been too real many younger people will pick it up and no wait your right!

It does give too many false ideal to younger women but, it can turn out wrong!

It was written still I think for someone who is not really into BDSM WORLD!
But someone who just wants to have a fantasy!

Many married women are reading it and they hide this book and my sister will not
read it at all!

Ok I am guilty I read the first two and I am on my way to the third I find it enjoying, and it has some
very open BDSM all through the book!

But it is good read for me, I do understand why, so many might not like it but for those who do 'I say enjoy it"!

I did enjoy it very much!

I think considering that piece of shite literature is an insult to every pile of manure out there.

And please do tell me, how many billionaires (not millionaires we are talking billionaires and self made) can you name who are young, model gorgeous, skilled piano players, pilots, philanthropists, yadda yadda? I bet most couples looking for a unicorn will get lucky before you can come up with one or two...

No, that part of the book doesn't make it real to me, sorry, it didn't get me wet and even if it would have, I do not tend to get the reaction some men get when they are watching porn "Turned me on, so it must be real, must become pool cleaner to have a 3some with 2 hot blonde twins", it has nothing to do with BDSM, it has a lot to do with an abusive relationship, BDSM is not abuse and using google is not "very well researched".

Sorry toots, don't want to kill your enjoyment of the book, but if you're into that kind of dross, get yourself a bodice ripper, Mills and Boon or Harlequin got plenty of them, look for the most garish cover (muscle packed male carrying off fainting virgin in corset and flowing skirts) and you got 50 Shades of Grey, it usually starts out in another century and the rebellious female is shown the error of her ways by the superior and unrealistic prince or pirate (who often happens to be a prince or earl and comes into his inheritance) and succumbs to his forceful manly charms and superiority. Same kind of shite, just without the pretense of being literature. The only thing that's new is that it's upsold as literature and not set in the past, and a few BDSM themes are thrown in for the novel approach.

Great marketing, the author made a fortune but in short it's just the same old same old "Women will only be happy when she meets the right man who will dominate her", a bit too much 50's housewife style with kink to appeal to me.

Think of it as slow progression: 20 years ago, BDSM was as "shocking and evil" as homosexuality was 40 years ago, Ten years ago, you could show it in mainstream media, but the character had to be damaged: the sub/cutter in The Secretary, the murder victim/Domme in The General's Daughter...or it had to be comedy, like the wretched adaptation of Rice's Exit to Eden.

Now we've reached the point where the New York Times and the Lawrence, Kansas book club can discuss the book and its themes. How long will we be stuck in this phase of "dreadfully written pop-lit with damaged, passive and/or submissive women as the nominal heroines"?

A long freaking time, because of what's next. The mainstream won't touch a straightforward, non-comedy, non-damaged people, account of female dominants for....a decade? Two? Let's start a pool!

In the meantime, the only progress will be slightly less giggly, slightly less dreadfully written crap, featuring slightly less damaged, passive women.

Wake me when we get there.

I repeat: Let's get typing, ladies and gentlemen!

BlackTigerDragon -> RE: Fifty Shades of Dross: A Domme's Perspective (7/26/2012 10:38:00 PM)

That toilet paper is plastered all over this book shop at the mall! Its shrine is almost IN the food court! And every time I walk past there is at least two women standing there reading it! (pukes) I'm so OVER Twilight fanfiction!

BTW, my hometown of Nilson. I'm still waiting for any physical evidence of John Greens The Fault in our Stars, which came out MONTHS ago. Or even any evidence that anyone knows who John Green is. I WANT TO READ THIS! WHY IS 50 SHADES OF SHIT SHOVED IN MY FACE INSTEAD?

And another thing: Has anyone ever seen a submissive man in any of these overhyped granny porn? Where the hell are they??

TNDommeK -> RE: Fifty Shades of Dross: A Domme's Perspective (7/26/2012 10:42:38 PM)

I just finished all three books. I think I could have enjoyed it more if there wasn't a wanna be BDSM plot involved. I think that is why it's shitty. The plot overall, I could have dealt with. But some of the redundant sex scenes were just boring as fuck. Jeeeez. What is sad is all my vanilla friends reading it and thinking, "oooh I like BDSM" I just roll my eyes.

kitkat105 -> RE: Fifty Shades of Dross: A Domme's Perspective (7/26/2012 11:01:02 PM)

Love it! That definitely made me LOL. Now, if only everyone can sabotage their closest bookstore, maybe we could make this work!
