TheHeretic -> RE: Obama Campaign "Rattled" (7/27/2012 6:25:26 PM)

There is no "misunderstanding," Tazzy. There was no gaffe. There is no "out of context," no matter how much Jon Stewart, and Owner59, and Mnottertail, repeat the official spin points from the DNC and the Truth Team emails. President Obama really said, "If you have a business, you didn't build that." That's what he meant, and it's what he believes. He expressed disdain for brains, and hard work, and individual initiative. The Obama campaign should be rattled. They've dumped $100 million on negative ads, to no effect. The man who once ran on "hope and change" will be perfectly happy to rip this country in two to save the one job in the United States he actually gives a shit about - his own - and that is blowing up in his face among the people he was hoping to persuade with it. Maybe he can pull it off. He's got the advantages of incumbency, a ball-sweat licking media, a little army of hate-filled, gutter-scum advocates who will swallow and repeat any lie that pops up in their inbox, and the race card. Maybe. With the economy moving the wrong direction, unemployment as "low" as it is only because of people dropping off the back, or having their SSDI claim come through, and national confidence leaking away, they are right to be rattled, though.
