simply because America under the Religious Right, will suffer more than it will under Obama.

Now there is a tired old talking point, Lucy. What exactly is it that makes you think Romney would be so much more effective than Reagan, or either Bush, at subverting the First Amendment to my country's Constitution? The fundies make their noise, and if it ever gets that far, a judge throws the shit out. Old story. They've done such a great job with it so far, that we are having problems figuring out gay divorce in Texas.

Great defense.......denial...................................not.

Do you suppose every American is as ignorant ....or is that your hope?

Good luck with that.

No, Owner59, that's really more your guy's strategy. I'll be doing my little bit to overcome it, though. [:)]

Obama made another huge gaffe, in which he claimed his economic plan worked

You can guess what happened next

That mean old Mitt Romney put out an ad remarking on that... gaffe

"It Worked"

Thats a lie.

You didnt build that.

Even Romney said it.

I gave you the links.

Sanity -> RE: Obama Campaign "Rattled" (7/27/2012 9:05:16 PM)

Sure you did.

tazzygirl -> RE: Obama Campaign "Rattled" (7/27/2012 9:06:14 PM)

Not my fault you have no idea what has been said.

But thank you for agreeing with me [:D]

Sanity -> RE: Obama Campaign "Rattled" (7/27/2012 9:27:23 PM)

The only Marxist in the campaign is Obama, I am pretty sure. What do you think you found. Are you trying to suggest that when Romney said that the Olympians didnt get to the Olympics by themselves, that was the same as Obama belittling business owners by claiming they didnt build their businesses, and suggested that entrepreneurs owe their profits to others who choose welfare

Thats apples and tomatoes taz, and indeed a lie. Olympians literally get to the Olympics with all kinds of private and public help, and all kinds of literal teamwork while businessmen fight the government tooth and nail for their very survival

Heres Youtube video of a rousing speech that received a rare standing ovation on the floor of the House today, perfectly illustrative of this fact

tazzygirl -> RE: Obama Campaign "Rattled" (7/27/2012 9:40:22 PM)

What are you talking about?

Im referring to the speech of.. you didnt build that.. and what Obama said within that speech... the same thing Romney has said before.

Its just amazing, how many "tired old talking points" about womens health issues made it past lawyers desks and into the house and state houses, many have been passed, many have been struck down, and many are being appealed on both sides.. If its so safe because of the constitution, how much money AND time have they wasted on it??? HOW many lives, have been affected in the past year and a half because of their unconstitutional bills, and how many more are they going to try ro bulldoze thru, trying to regulate half the population...while whinging about money and making government smaller.
How many times have they appealed the "Obamacare"???
how trite of you.

mnottertail -> RE: Obama Campaign "Rattled" (7/28/2012 8:14:18 AM)

All the while this sounds like last election, and one thing Palin has taught us, you can put lipstick on a pig, cuz by god now its Willard, and Palin almost looks good in comparison.

Yeah, jesus, that rattled me, Oh, I am rattled, its as if the rabid right morons said something stupid for the very first time, or lied, or misinformed, or rewrote history...

we never saw it coming, we are rattled, they are rattled, you are rattled.

TheHeretic -> RE: Obama Campaign "Rattled" (7/28/2012 8:24:20 AM)

Yada yada yada, Lucy. Have no fear. The Constitutional right of asshole men to hand her a couple hundred bucks and tell her to get rid of it, is as secure on the Republican watch as it is under any Democrat

Lucylastic -> RE: Obama Campaign "Rattled" (7/28/2012 8:29:17 AM)

How very one sided dear.... how surprising.[8|]
how very convenient to dismiss my other points.
Rattled indeed![;)]

Good.. if he is, I will post only good things concerning him and his administration.. and I will post at least once a week.

If he loses, you will do the same for Obama.. posting only good things about his administration and at least once a week.

The wager is for a year.

I prefer cash, or something useful, but I accept your terms... It's a bet.

Oooooh, this will be great (either way!)!!!

That you are worried about the time and expense of cultural evolution playing itself out, even if if our side is winning? Sorry, Lucy, I put free speech above your desire that the fundies simply be crushed into submission.

Winterapple -> RE: Obama Campaign "Rattled" (7/28/2012 8:52:13 AM)

FR
This topic reminds me of a blowhard boss my
stepdad had. Said blowhard boss's constant
braying mantra was he did it all himself
nobody ever helped him or gave him anything.

He conveniently overlooked a few things in
his Horatio Alger narrative. He is a white
man born in postwar America. His father
went to college on the G I Bill which lifted
the family into the solid middle class.
The brayer had access to a decent
public school education and his parents
were able to send him to college.
He was able to avoid the draft and he
married a woman with a socially
connected father. He was at the right
place at the right time when he got
into the business he got into. And he
had employees like my stepdad who
worked their asses off for him.

If this is the best Willard's team can pull
out of their asses, well, add a dearth of
imagination to their long list of failures.

"I must study politics and war that my sons may have liberty to study mathematics and philosophy.
My sons ought to study mathematics and philosophy, geography, natural history, naval architecture, navigation, commerce and agriculture in order to give their children a right to study painting, poetry, music, architecture, statuary, tapestry, and porcelain."

-- John Adams

Ain't nobody here under completely their own steam...

TheHeretic -> RE: Obama Campaign "Rattled" (7/28/2012 9:04:54 AM)

The world is full of blowhard asshole bosses, Winterapple. It's also full of people who make excuses, and try to feel better about themselves by diminishing the achievements of others. The President is making his appeal from the latter camp (though he may have some strong personal connection to the first, as well). His "you didn't build that," attack on success illustrates his general outlook on individualism vs. collectivism. The campaign is right to be rattled, when he goes and tells the truth, the way he did.

It is not at all clear that any side is winning.  So, with prima facie false premises the conclusion is but false.

I have removed the worst of the worst, of post that were derogatory, inflammatory and off topic. Please do not make your post about another poster.

Thank you
