Personally I think a lot of the animosity against gov't employees is that everyone remembers their teeth-gritting experiences with the post office, etc. and assumes that all gov't employees are the same.

I think you're right about how we first come to understand the inherent inefficiences and shortcomings of government, Outhere.  I'd certainly give a shout out to the DMV, on any list.  The assumption isn't that all government employees are lazy, but that there is a culture which forgets the "service" aspect of being a public servant.

Hell, for years and years theyve refused to pass a budget of any kind at all

Finally, someone who calls for a budget? How soon can he start?

Why should Romney devulge his plan for funding the tax cuts et al? Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid refused to devulge what was in Obamacare before they passed it.

And then came the '08' crash......created and delivered by the private sector.....cuz as we all know......the private sector is inherently efficient......

Cept for the "slight" inefficiency of losing 17 trillion in private savings/investments and millons of American jobs....ruining one of history`s best economies followed by billions of taxpayer dollars lost, to bailouts.

It was in all the papers and the news.....

You 1%ers sure loved the gumbment then.......[8|]

Actually, those aren't Obama's observations.

Way to jump to assumptions, Ye Knee-Jerkers.

"To pay for tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires, (Romney) drastically cuts pay for the men and women who secure our borders and skies, enforce our laws, inspect our food and search for better treatments and cures," said Obama spokesman Adam Fetcher.

But, but, but...  If Comrade Napoleon says it, it must be right...

When did blogs become credible sources?

Probably about the same time that the MSM decided not to be. This is not to say that all blogs are credible.

Obama told us during his LAST campaign that he had a debt reduction plan

Today we are five trillion deeper in debt...

quote:

ORIGINAL: tazzygirl

...Obama's debt reduction plan, he said, "requires federal workers to do their part through eliminating wasteful spending, streamlining government and freezing federal pay for the past two years."

If Romney says he intends to do something, the rest of the world is supposed to pretend he didn't?

If he (and you) can't stand behind what he wants to do, why do you support him?

You should be proudly repeating it. Instead, his supporters are playing at repeating silly spins.

Not exactly confidence building.

Both parties suck on this point.

Until someone campaigns for ALL of

1) cut military spending
2) adjust SS and Medicaid/Medicare
3) trim discretionary spending
4) raise taxes

they are pushing an agenda, not a something that will reduce the national debt.

My apologies but your personal far left list of budgetary demands is inconsequential, as my list of ideas is the only one that means anything [;)]

That being posted, until someone keeps their campaign pledge to substantially trim our crisis-level deficits whether by hook or by crook, we need to keep voting the lying incumbents out, and while Obama certainly reads a mean teleprompter all of his beautifully scripted rhetoric rings hollow

Time to give someone else a try

Here, we use the term "math."

Items 2 and 3 are definitely NOT demands of the left.

But I know moderates don't exist in your left/right world. Nor mathematics.

Wishing doesn't make things happen. There is no Magic Money. Time to do what's necessary. If you're not there, then you don't actually give a crap about the growing national debt. Which explains how you can support Bush on Steroids Mitt, doubling down on what got us into this mess in the first place.

Sanity -> RE: Military cuts (7/29/2012 11:45:17 AM)

What a surprise, more of your lame attempts to make yet another thread about me

Heres the deal - you wrote, "Time to do what's necessary. If you're not there, then you don't actually give a crap about the growing national debt."

Okay, we agree on that. Time to do something about the national debt - and the leader we have now has demonstrated that he is willing to pay lip service to the debt, then pile trillions more on top of it as soon as the elections are over. So join me at the polls in voting for someone, anyone, other than the liar Barack Obama.

Unless you dont give a crap? Unless honesty and integrity mean nothing to you.

Musicmystery -> RE: Military cuts (7/29/2012 11:48:29 AM)

No, you did that to yourself.

I posted a list of what it would ACTUALLY take to address the national debt. It contains items unpopular with both the right and the left; half measures here push agendas without addressing the substance.

You decided math was a "far left attack." Now you've decided it's a personal attack. Man, you have issues.

Both Republicans and Democrats are way off base on this issue.

As I've explained many times, the choice is Bush Lite or Bush on Steroids. Voting for doubling down on more of what got us here is sheer insanity. Voting for less of it is preferable.

Then there's health care, the Supreme Court, and the neo-con wish to conquer the globe.

There's reality. Embrace it if you like and disagree. But you keep trying to change reality. Good luck with that.

All the lists in the world will do no good without leaders who ACTUALLY keep their word

Musicmystery -> RE: Military cuts (7/29/2012 11:52:20 AM)

And if Mitt keeps his, we're fucked even more than Bush and Bush Lite.

Bush on Steroids? No thanks.

Sanity -> RE: Military cuts (7/29/2012 11:56:41 AM)

Much as the far left needs this election to be Obama vs. Bush, its still Obama vs. Romney

And Romney isnt Bush

Though Bush, while he was admittedly no staunch conservative, was still far better than Comrade "You didnt build that" Barack in every way imaginable
